Biochemistry

This book was the recommended reading for my double biochemistry module. When I briefly looked at the older edition in the store I was put off by the amount of text. I was pleasantly surprised however to purchase this, and fine that it is actual rather readable. I struggle with biochemistry compared to plain biology but this book really helps.I am only going to be using the chapter on metabolism, but that itself is around 300 pages (don't have the book at hand for a precise figure). I found the questions plentiful and relevant, and the material is covered in superb detail. I have only used this book for about a week, but I can say it is truly superb. I will post another review once I finish the module at Christmas.

A wonderful book for my biological sciences BSc.I haven't read the whole thing so can't comment on the quality throughout, but the section on proteins in particular is the most understandable of any book I've read to date. It's written in a simplistic style which is very useful.It's a very large, thick book and very heavy!

This is an amazing Biochemistry book that I only just recently bought. However, I've been using it since then and I can say it's probably the best books out there. If your an undergrad like me looking for a biochemistry book, then this is the one for you. It covers everything in my course (Biomed) and it goes in a lot of detail. But don't be scared of that. It's structured in a way that is easily read and understood. It's not those types of books you buy that have pages and pages of information that you just can't read and understand from. This one is very well structured and VERY student-friendly.You can't get less than an A when using this book to study. It's that good. Definitely recommend to any students out there.

I bought this for my son who's studying Biochemistry, he loved it and is using it for his studies. Arrived on-time and was as advertised.

A classic in another edition. As always, up-to-date with clear writing and interesting side notes.
