Amazing low cost underwater video lights
The media could not be loaded. So I wanted to have some good dive video lighting and didn't want to spend a ton of money. I've been shooting underwater for about 20 years and I'm also cheap as hell. I have four of these lights and I actually sanded down the lenses to make the beams wider and softer - basically a diffuser. The four lights are mounted to a rig so each light is about 20 cm from the camera center and they are absolutely amazing. The lights have gone on about 30 dives with no issues. The supplied rechargeable batteries last easily through two 1 hour dives. The video looks great, especially in caves and deep wrecks where there is little light. I've compared the lights with some of my buddies that have fancy single $300 - $500 underwater video lights and with my four I have better lighting and a wider consistent illumination area. In a studio on dry land, photographers always use multiple lights to avoid hotspots, the same applies to underwater so a single brighter light has this inherent drawback. I use a wide angle lens so it's important to have good even illumination over a wide area. I'm extremely pleased and if I flood or lose a light I'm only out $15. Since I kind of punish my gear, cheap and replaceable is good. In the video you can see the nice even lighting that makes the colors look spectacular for anything within about 1 meter of the camera. My only complaint is the on off mechanism which is screwing the base of the light: its too easy to switch between high, low, and flash so you just have to screw it a little tighter when you turn it on so it doesn't switch to the low or flash mode when you get to 100'. If you screw it only tight enough to turn it on it may change modes when there is more pressure at depth. It's only a minor issue and if you just give it an extra half turn you are good. And if you screw it super tight it may damage the O-rings and flood. But that is true with any flashlight that has a screw on off mechanism. I've heard people saying they had a problem with flooding but I think it's that most people who buy a $15 light don't know that tighter isn't better when it comes to O-rings.

Poorly constructed.
To turn the flashlight on or off, you must turn the bottom portion. However, you also unscrew the bottom portion completely to replace the batteries. This is a disaster waiting to happen, since it would be easy to turn too far while turning on, resulting in water getting inside the flashlight. In addition, you have to turn the flashlight multiple times to get the setting you may want and it didn't seem reliable. The plastic storage box was the cheapest constructed piece of rubbish I've ever seen. Once I opened it, the edges wouldn't align properly and I couldn't get all the clasps to stay closed. I am returning this item.

Same light as Amazon Choice BlueFire, but you get a free rechargeable battery and charger
I just did my first night dive and deep dive, and needed a light for this. At the scuba store, dive lights are $50 and up. I read some of the reviews on this light and decided to give it a try. Notably, I also bought BlueFire 1100 Lumen CREE XM-L2 Professional Diving Flashlight, because it was the Amazon choice and was hyping the Cree LED bulb, thinking there must be something better about that one. No. They are EXACTLY the same light. I am recommending this RedStar one, because they give you the rechargeable battery, a recharger, and a case FOR THE SAME PRICE as the one without it. I am confident these are made in the same Chinese factory. Be advised, this is probably NOT the light for the professional diver, as you will see, the depth rating is only 80 feet. Notably, I took mine down to 100 feet (exactly) and had no problems. It is nice and compact, and really quite bright (I felt it compared in brightness to most of the $100-200 lights that others in my group had). Plus, lets face it, if it fails, you are out 15 whole bucks, which is really next to nothing in scuba diving terms.

Low quality and not bright enough - too many issues
I bought this as a backup light for a recent scuba trip. The light really is not bright enough, and the mechanism for on off is a bad design. If you turn the end a bit too much (to activate the light), you may get water intrusion (like I did). I do have to say, even after exposure to water, it still worked. One more issue, it has a flash feature, for signaling and saving battery life for emergencies. But you'll always be fighting with it to get it to light only and not flashing mode and vice versa.

Very good for the price. Bright and comes with battery. wrist strap could be better, beam could be more diffused.
This is a great deal. Light is bright and it comes with 18650 battery and charger, the case is a bit flimsy but nice to have. You turn it on / off and change mode by unscrewing / screwing the rear part. I am not sure if it is save to change mode while underwater, as and excessive turn may open the back. But for the price is great and works. The beam is not too wide and the very center has a definite / narrow hot spot. I am considering sandpapering the glass to maybe it more frosted and diffused, for photos / video. The wrist band works, but the band itself feels cheap and is not elastic. I may replace the band with a better one.Overall it works, the price is good, I may buy another if I can manage to make the glass frosted.

great backup dive light
Edit: warning that these lights are very easy to flood while in the water- I was using one and the light wouldn’t turn off so I carried it with me in the car ride back and it blew up in my lap due to water touching the battery!!! Beware!! The sucker went off like a Roman candle and pouring out black acid smoke.i have used these many times- works great as a back up dive light and even as a primary if you need. As long as you keep the Orings lubricated it should last a long time. I have one that is 2 years old and probably has about 50 dives on it. Occasionally the batteries will be bad upon arrival but the company will make it right should you get a bad one.
