White Hakata Doll - Tea Canister (Japan)

I purchased this product off a wedding registry, it is adorable. It is a nice size but won't take up a lot of room. I purchased a second one for my daughter as she is a fan of all things Japanese. She loved it.

It was what I have been looking for in tea storage. Cap could fit a little tighter but I don't keep tea around that long.

This tea canister is really quite cute. The lines are crisply painted (she even has a very faint blush to her cheeks) and it's a pretty good size. It stands approximately 6" tall. The yellow and grey images that you can see on the doll's dress are actually flying cranes. The cranes continue onto the back. On the very top of her head is a pink spot that isn't visible in the photo. It is the same pattern as her parasol (medium pink with light pink blossoms on it.) It's a clever way to pull even more than just the lines of her hair onto the lid.Once you lift the lid, which is from her bangs upward, you'll find that there is a plastic inside lid as well that fits onto the top of the canister to help prevent moisture from entering and damaging stored tea. On this canister, it is a fairly snug fit, but I did order another tea canister, the kokeshi doll  Black/Blue Kokeshi Doll - Tea Canister (Japan)  , and the interior lid doesn't fit as well. The exterior lid on this canister is not very snug, so there is a lot riding on that interior lid, which in my case works well.Overall, this is a great tea canister and a fun one to use especially with Japanese teas.
