Initial review: When first plugged into OnePlus 5, the Google Assistant got activated. To deactivate GA: Settings ->System -> Accessibility -> turn off the offending feature(s). While still in the GA menu, unplug/plug the adapter into the phone again and turn off the GA menu items, if they popped up, again. After that the adapter works as expected.

Pretty simple need but when you insert the smaller connector, you can barely feel any resistance. Seems like the compact design must have made it difficult to make a secure connection. In one the transmit did not work, the other required moving the connection around initially but quickly failed completely (no receive or transmit and the smaller cord would just fall out)

Both adapters started making intermittent contact after about a week or so. The sound cuts in and out when the adapter is moved. Tried different cables to make sure it wasn't the cable. The cables were good when used alone, btw. Made cheaply and obviously not durable.

When the 2.5 mm plug is inserted, it doesn't fit well. Doesn't make a solid connection. I am returning it.

Finding the right adapter is not easy, with Amazon the process was flawless. These work great
