Not the same ingredients, very bad reaction
First I want to say that this is not too much of a reflection on the seller. They get 4 stars, only because the product was not packaged as pictured. If I had seen the different packaging, it would have prompted me to investigate a little further to ensure that what I was ordering was the same thing I have been using. When I first purchased this pre workout at a local vitamin store (they stopped selling it), it was GREAT stuff! Great focus, explosive energy, no crash, no jitters! When I tried this one, I immediately KNEW that something was off. I felt like my throat was about to close up on me, had jitters and not enough energy to complete my workouts. The ingredient that changed everything? Green coffee extract. Now I have to find a different paleo (CLEAN) pre workout that doesn’t contain coffee.

Awful taste, good clean energy
It tastes terrible! The first time, I almost puked and felt nauseous working out . Does not mix as well as other powders I have used. After a week, I can stomach it, only if cut with about 2x the recommended water.I do like the clean energy and the fact that it is paleo. Not quite as much pump, but that's a good trade off with the less jittery feeling than other pre-workouts give me. For CrossFit type workouts, this works well. I was finding that the increased heart rate and jitters with other pre-workouts were affecting my high heart rate activites.All in all, if you can grow accustomed to the awful taste/smell, then Surge is a good option. I'm about 1/2 way through my bag, and not sure if I will reorder or try another option.

If you're trying to get off caffeine but still want workout energy, this is your stuff
It's not going to taste like the synthetic brands you're used to, nor is it going to 'surge' energy into your veins like other brands, but it is going to heighten your attention and give you a more natural boost for your workout. I got so tired of putting gross, synthetic blends into my body and I'm glad Paleoethics makes Surge!

It came a different container then pictured but the taste is AWFUL. Do not waste your money. There’s pink and yellow chunks that don’t dissolve and it is disgusting. The taste is like straight up chemicals mixed with garbage. Very disappointed

Great product! The taste is pretty awful. Overall, I would rate this:Taste: 1/10Effectiveness: 8/10I would buy it again if it was on sale. I currently use MusclePharm Natural Energy and enjoying it more. Same effectiveness with a slightly better taste.

this is the best all around pre workout I have found
Honestly, this is the best all around pre workout I have found. The taste isn't great, but the ingredients are clean and simple - and there isn't any caffeine; so I can take this before an afternoon or evening workout without worrying about how much it will affect my sleep.

small packaging in comparison to most of the supplement that I bought before, and I think this is a good thing.. because most of the time.. big packaging is just an illusion. So I took this surge for the first time last week and went to do my WOD.. I have to say..it really works without giving me the jiz, the fiz..I just gonna describe as it.. controlled, calm booster!

it's not great, but i don't find it terrible
I'm extremely sensitive to pre-workouts with stimulant in them. Even drinking coffee gives me palpitations. I don't really feel this stuff take effect, but i can tell you when im in a workout and blasting through burpees, which i never ever do, i know it's working. I work out late in the evening and have not had a hard time falling asleep so far. I've only had one day on the weekend, where i felt a bit anxious but that was hours after ingesting it. So it might not necessarily be the product itself.In terms of taste, it's not great, but i don't find it terrible. I've even taken it in the morning right after brushing my teeth and didnt find i had a major problem knocking it back. Just keep your water super cold and you're fine.Will definitely be reordering this product again.

I've had really bad experiences with pre-workouts
I've had really bad experiences with pre-workouts. Extreme heart palpitations, nervousness and excessive tingly skin. The only reason why I tried this one is they promise none of these side affects yet you still get a boost. I must admit this product really does work! I get this really smooth energy boost that is definitely noticeable without that nervousness feeling. The colder it is the better it tastes!

Really good. I am super sensitive to pre-workouts and this is good for making you feel alert without super anxious. Hard to explain the feeling but it makes you feel more excited during the workout. I just started it and only use 1/2 a scoop and this already has an effect on me.Update- I tried the Vega Sugar Free Pre-Workout in order to compare to Surge as they appeared similar in their ingredient profiles and Surge works much more quickly and more effectively. I find the Vega product makes me feel anxious and is not as effective; I don't get the same natural-feeling energy boost with Vega. I agree that Surge does not mix well but this is not that big of a deal as a shaker cup pretty much solves that problem. I find Surge is better tasting than the Vega Sugar Free option (I ordered the lime flavour) although some would likely disagree.I'm sticking with Surge.
