Yard Game Changer
I purchased this with no incentive, reimbursement, or recommendation. I was just doing what I normally do, and purchasing things I don't really need on Amazon. However, this ended up being an incredible investment. This is an inexpensive product that has changed my yard maintenance. I now consider it a necessary part of my lawn care routine. We have a 3 acre yard, and holding the weed whacker for that long can turn an easy job into a day-ender.ADJUSTABILITY: The straps and adjustments are a little difficult to figure out at first, but like with anything, you just need to play around with it to figure it out. Once you have it configured, you shouldn't need toworry about it again unless you will have multiple users.QUALITY: This is made of heavy duty strap materials and hard plastic. It appears to be of high quality and should last for at least the life of my tool.COMPATIBILITY: I have only used this with my Stihl trimmer, model FS 56 RC-E. It has a hole to clip a shoulder sling to, and this chest harness has a hook that perfectly fits into that hole.USE: After putting on the chest harness, clip in the trimmer. I recommend starting the trimmer prior to clipping in. After attaching the trimmer, adjust straps so that the trimmer weight is distributed over both shoulders. You want it at a height so that you can easily sweep the ground with the trimmer line parallel with the ground. Grab the trimmer as normal, and begin trimming. Rather than using your arms to move the trimmer, you can use the natural momentum of a slow stroll to sweep the trimmer head from left to right across a 4 ft path. Alternatively, you can hold the trimmer steady to trim along an edge as you quickly walk, making quick, easy work of an overgrown sidewalk or driveway edge.It is also possible to trim higher up than ground level, like on a retaining wall with weeds growing from it. The positioning of the hole on Stihl trimmers is near its center of gravity, so a light pull on the handle raises the trimmer head without needing to support the weight of the engine compartment as well.OVERALL: At the price listed, this is a no brainer. If you have a Stihl trimmer, just buy it. You won't regret it. And if you do, return it. No risk, high reward - in economics, they call this a solid investment opportunity. (Full disclosure - I have no idea if they actually use that term or much about economics in general, but I do think you should buy this thing.)

Works but don't expect it to last a long time...
Bought this to help spread the weight of a weed eater better than just a standard sling. This works well at that, and is adjustable in lots of different ways too. I'm giving 3 stars because the shoulder strap material is not what was expected. It is some kind of cheap looking flexible foam that creases very easily. Also, the 3 star rating is because the spring that keeps the retention clip pushed forward broke the second day this was used. Not the end of the world, but the weed eater can work itself free from the harness now because the retention clip does not press closed. Bottom line, you get what you pay for. This is cheaper than name brand harnesses, both in price and quality...but it does what it is supposed to do.

Don't waste your money, it'll be in the trash in a week or two
The buckle broke on just the third time putting it on, it's made of brittle plastic that by design must flex to be attached or removed. Also on the chest piece one strap wouldn't stay tight and I constantly had to keep readjusting it while another was very frustrating to adjust because the openings for the strap had tight clearance (I would rather have that over the strap opening that was too loose though)

A Trimmer Harness That Actually Works.
I am a Stihl fan with FS-90, FS-95, FS-100 and FS-131, plus a 40 year old FS-96. There might even be an FS-110 in the collection I also own a Stihl pole saw. Except for the FS-131 which is only a week old, the other Stihl trimmers came with worthless belts. The new FS-131 actually did come with an almost identical harness to this one. My wife thought I was nuts for buying three of these harnesses until I fitted her up with one to run the FS-131. Now she is happy. I have one fitted for me and I am giving the third harness to me son. The price was excellent and the quality is fine. I have a lot of time running string trimmers and I always felt that I needed some type of pad to keep the trimmer body from running against my upper thigh. This one is perfect

Easily attachment/detachment
Great value for the money. Will adjust to any frame - I'm a woman to fit is an issue. I use a heavy, commercial grade weed eater - the old harness I bought with it finally broke. It was like a backpack, distributed weight across both shoulders and hips - I was unable to find anything like it. Got this one in the interim. It's ok. Since it's a sling style, it does not distribute the weight. If my weed eater was light and I only used it for light duty 30 minutes or so, I'm sure it would be fine. But I weed eat steep banks, ditch lines, creek banks for 2-3 hours at a time so the sling twists my back, makes upper back and arms sore because more lifting and maneuvering is required. Still, I wouldn't be able to operate the weed eater without it, I didn't pay much for it and it's getting the job done until I can find a commercial halter.
