The Ames Companies, Inc 2585900 True Temper D-Grip Digging Shovel with Hardwood Handle

I have used multiple brands of drain spades over a 30 year career and finally found the best one.It is lightweight and very durable long lasting is the last test it has to pass.

3 stars because I put it on my roof rack after use ones digging in the dirt and after rain rust ,so I use in the garden great quality but not for off-road

This is a lower quality shovel masquerading as a good shovel. All Ames products, including this one, have a pour hole in the underside of the handle. This is very uncomfortable and causes scratching to the hand. I would recommend spending a little more money and getting a shovel that is guaranteed for life like one from Kobalt. I ordered this product and sent it back asking for a return. They sent a second shovel with the same defect. I called the company and was asked to send in a picture by email and would hear back within 3 business days. They did not email back after 2 emails as of 2 weeks after initial email.

My great grandson will grow into this
