This was a Christmas present for my stepdaughter. While she's not much of a daily journaler, she wanted something more private, something she could lock, and I wanted to be able to have a key just in case I needed it. She also loves space and anything that glows in the dark, so this was a huge hit on all fronts. It gives her just enough privacy (mainly from snooping cousins) while being exceedingly cool. The first few nights she actually left it on her nightstand to admire.Nice small size for easy hiding, good quality lined paper with a good amount of pages to keep kids busy writing down their hearts' secret desires. Or plotting to rule the world, whatever.

My kid wanted a notebook with a lock. The lock is cheap but perfect for a young kid that just thinks it’s cool more than anything. Book is good quality. Shipping did take a while

I was super excited about this diary for my 8 year old son. It looks great and he really likes to use it, especially he loves the fact that he can lock it.However, the picture of the glowing in the dark is a little misleading. I had to charge it under really bright light for about an hour to get "glow in the dark" effect and the glow was really week compare to the one on the photo. I was unable to get any glow from just leaving it on the table in a regularly lighted room. The lock also feels a little flimsy from the perspective an adult, but my son likes it.I would say it's ok gift for good value if person on the receiving end didn't see the picture used to advertise it.

Bought it for my niece for Christmas and she loved it. Excellent quality but it’s a bit smaller than I thought.

My 10 year old DAUGHTER loved this as a birthday present, when I told her it said it was for boys she said.. "that's so stupid, just because it has planets on it doesn't mean girls wouldn't like it!"We had a good discussion on the use of sexism in consumerism... Girls like space too!!!!The diary is great and the glow in the dark factor makes it all the more fun for writing in at night.
