Hygrometer Thermometer 3 Pack, Mini Humidity Sensor with Gateway

Anyone that lives in a multi-story townhouse knows the struggle of the upstairs being super hot or super cold. I wanted to know for sure how the temperatures were in the individual rooms, and the setup was incredibly easy. The app is simple and clean, no million ads. The history is clear and easy to understand, and very accurate when read with a room thermometer. Now I know at all times how hot or cold it is upstairs, and can adjust the temp on the fly. I highly recommend it.

Excellent product. The function is very nice and allows me to monitor my home temperature and humidity even when I am on the road. I use it in every room including my garage. Set up is simple and fool proof. I have 8 sensors in my home. The app is nicely done, and works very well.

The Govee app is pretty terrible. It's usually about five minutes behind on updates. There is a permanent exclamation mark over the wifi symbol, even when it eventually catches up. The app complains if I turn Bluetooth off on my phone, even though there is connectivity via the WiFi hub. Other than the little exclamation mark, which is permanently there anyway, there's no clear visual indication when a device has run out of battery. It just sits there on the dashboard reporting a temperature from a week ago. And the historic temperature feature is a pain to use, as it takes ten seconds or more to load the data, every single time, which gets boring. Oh, and to add insult to injury, the app has ads, so after paying reasonable money for this product, Govee still sees fit to extract a few more tenths of a cent of revenue from me at the cost of my convenience. The devices themselves seem well made, although the battery on one has died after just a couple of months. Perhaps it will do better with a new branded alkaline battery, we will see. In the end, it does the job, sort of, and there doesn't seem to to be anything better on the market, so though the app is fairly grim, I'm keeping the devices. Edit 7/17/2023 This is now working much better, so I added a star. Temperature data is now recent to withing two minutes as soon as I open the app, and the constant exclamation mark over the wifi symbol has gone away (though it does briefly recur every few minutes, for some reason) I didn't change anything. Maybe an app update fixed it. I will also add that what I called 'ads' can (I think) be completely disabled via 'banner' preferences. Viewing historical data is very slow, as I said in my original review. It seems historical data is pulled from the cloud, which I didn't realize at time of my review. I still don't know why that has to be so slow but, anyway, that's something of a bonus feature for me. The core feature of checking temps and humidity around my house is now reliable and fast.

I originally purchased these to keep track of temperatures in the RV, but found that I could put one out in the heated room, in the house screen room, for my wife's plants (during the winter), and under the water-well cover to make sure that the heater kept the water-well head warm but not hot. And I can monitor these all from my phone. These things are great, very useful and have helped put my mind at ease concerning maintaining proper temperatures where needed. And the RV never got to hot or cold, thereby preventing humidity problems that might result in mildew or mold later.

I picked up a set of Govee humidity and temp sensors to help me keep my house safer in Jan of 24. I love them, they're great little sensors, they were easy to set up and use. Unfortunately the gateway just up and stopped working a little over a week ago. I contacted Govee support hoping to be able to buy JUST a replacement gateway. Well, they don't sell just the gateway, but... I was a little surprised when they offered to just send me a replacement. Ok, Great. Problem solved. Now imagine how surprised, and very pleasantly so I might add, when they sent me a whole new SET, the gateway and 3 sensors. I will Definitely be looking at Govee to fulfill more of my smart home sensing and lighting needs in the future.

Bought the Govee 5100's with the gateway (x2) in addition to extra 5100's to monitor snake enclosures. Obviously a bit of an esoteric use but regardless, well within the indications of these sensors and functionality. Set-up is incredibly easy. The Govee app feels like you are about to play a video game rather than set up a system of sensors and other connected devices. Not quite the streamlined professional appearance but it's fine for what it is. The sensors connect to the app seamlessly (initially) and then connect to the gateway and wifi easily. No complaints at all. Unfortunately, I don't believe anyone buys these devices so that they can connect them to an app and then walk away. These are monitoring devices for a specific use. While these devices are not lab certified equipment (I trained in biochemistry and molecular biology), they are advertised to measure within reasonable accuracy. And here is ONE aspect where this product utterly fails. When I set these up, I noticed that I was getting readings that varied by 1-2 degrees F between sensors that were nearly side by side. I then bought a thermometer with an NIST certificate to measure against these devices. This more or less confirmed that they are accurate within typically +/- 1 degree F. For what I need it for, I decided that this was acceptable so I continued using the sensors. BUT......after about 2-3 months of using these sensors and gateways I started to notice that monitoring the snake enclosures remotely was becoming less reliable despite no changes in my home wifi network. Since I travel a lot for work, remote monitoring is considered essential for me and a large reason I bought this set-up. More and more frequently, when I tried to update the sensors remotely the wifi would not update through the gateway. THEN, I started to notice some of the sensors would not update despite the wifi gateway updating the other sensors (I'm using around 12-14 sensors). The battery would indicate full yet the sensors were not updating. Changing the battery would only fix the problem about half of the time. Deleting the device from the app and reinstalling it would fix it about half of the time. The problem though is that some of these sensors would just completely stop being found by bluetooth when you try to reinstall them. Govee support has been responsive and has agreed to replace the sensors (I have still to actually receive replacements) but honestly I have no trust or confidence in these sensors and am going to probably eat the money and find something else that is reliable. I don't need laboratory accuracy but I do need to trust that when I am away the sensors I am using are actually working, are going to work and are going to last longer than a couple months. Overall, definitely would NOT recommend this unless Govee makes some real changes.

Easy setup, can trend data over time. Just got ever thing setup for wi - fi. Sensors are small about a tenth the size of other brand sensors. Tested remote access outside of home a mile away. Everything works! Nice feature is that you can calibrate each sensor for maximum accuracy to a known source. Cannot do this with common temp/humidity sensors. So you can get all the sensors reading the same. Using this as a remote system when I am away from home. Live at 7,000 ft and it can get cold in a hurry. I have a couple of weather systems and this was easiest to setup for remote monitoring. Data trending is great over a day, week, and month. Gave it 5 stars for easy setup, will see about reliability. Only gripe is you need a magnifying glass to read the manual. UPDATE 1 - Well it has been a week now. Spent a few days in Phoenix away from Flagstaff. Readings are reliable. Still 5 stars. UPDATE 2 - Well I added a second set of sensors and gateway. Now controlling 6 temp/humidity sensors. Called customer service which is a miracle as there a phone number; to see if a second gateway can be added. No problem it can.

I use these to monitor temperature and humidity in my leopard gecko enclosure and they work great and seem accurate. The WiFi connection is awesome because I can check readings anywhere, not just when I’m home. I also like that you can pair them with Govee plugs to automate other devices (like running a humidifier when humidity gets too low or shutting it off when it’s high). I liked them so much I bought more Govee sensors for other areas too, like tracking humidity in my plant room. Tons of uses for these.
