Outset Rosewood Handle Grill Basket, Non-Stick Meatball Basket

This product is well built and very easy to clean. Even with cooked-on remnants of my meatball recipe, it came clean after a short soak of the basket in Dawn and hot water. Let's also add what a delightful addition to pasta ..... smoked meat goodness!! YUMMY!!

These are fun to use and make great meatballs. But I bought two, and after a couple of times, the one, for some reason, started sticking pretty badly. That might be user error. Experimenting with different methods of oiling them ect., now. But they're very reasonable priced and my husband loved them as one of his birthday presents. Grilling the meatballs give them a great flavor, and a pound of meat with the meatballs stuff like breadcrumbs, egg, onion, etc. Fills out one rack of twelve meatballs perfectly. People complain in reviews that the meatballs are tiny, but I would say they're medium sized. You'd expect the racks to be hard to clean, but if you soak them for a few minutes and use a brush, it's not much of a problem.

Maiden use was with a bag of 16/24 size shrimp, must have been a bit smaller, ended up with 30. Cleaned and shelled the shrimp, seasoned well with a favorite seafood seasoning, put 2 shrimp in each "pocket"' put the extras in the center areas between the pockets, out on the grill they went. No more trying to skewer or chasing the shrimp around the grill... Turned out quite tasty, made some killer wraps. I do agree with the reviewer who needed to make a lot of meatballs, not a tool to use to prep for a crowd. Clean up wasn't too bad, put it into a hot soapy soak in the sink, took a brush to both sides of each half about 10-15 minutes later.

I was shocked when we opened this huge box to find this small meatball griller, it won’t fit our meatballs. It holds enough however small meatballs. I wouldn’t recommend to those who like their meatballs.

This was for my son-in-law and he said it was cool and worked really well. That works for me!

I needed to make about 100 grilled meatballs to demonstrate a spice blend. This meatball basket was more trouble to use than any benefits it produced. It is not well designed in that the mesh used for the wire baskets for the individual meatballs are too big. This makes it so that the meat pushes through them during cooking making dozens of "meat riviets" causing sticking. When you open the thing half the meatballs are torn in half. No amount of oil or cooking spray prevented this. Perhaps making really small meatballs would work OK-- but why bother?

Nice product, sturdily built, closer mesh than competitors to prevent fall through of the uncooked meat. Works great, made of quality material. I wish this had come with a recipe book, but you can play with your own seasonings (try putting a cube of cheese in the middle). I gave this 4/5 stars because it is very difficult to clean. Like most non-stick products, remember to add cooking spray or olive oil before the fillings, but either way, you will still be picking charred bits off of the grate. Also, a little FYI, the wooden part of the handle is small, so don't depend on it being cool when you go to pick it up off the grill!
