I am a 3rd grade teacher, and every year I have several students who complain of recurring head-aches and/or stomach-aches. They don't seem "obviously" sick in any other way, but I do believe that their heads and stomachs are hurting. I heard of these light covers when reading about students who have sensory issues. I decided to give them a try. I bought two sets, for a total of eight covers. I have twelve lights in my classroom, so I had to leave the four corner lights uncovered. As soon as I had them up, I could tell a difference (keeping in mind that I knew to look for a difference). The light was definitely softer. Most people did not notice them when they came into the room. My principal did not see or ask about them until February! And, yet....the best news of all is that I had a year of very few head and stomach issues (unless the students had other reasons for them such as a cold, allergies, etc.)!!! I had to take them down for the summer for cleaning, and the difference was again noticeable. I don't know if I would have had the same physical complaints from this year's group of students (the truest way to have tested this would have been to put them up in the 4th grade room to see what happened!), but I really do think that these covers contributed to a better year for students who are affected by the lighting we have in our classroom. They are fairly easy to put up. The magnets are very strong, so if I didn't get it exactly in the right spot the first time, I had a bit of up and down to do on the ladder to re-position it. But...it was very worth it!! Great product!!

I ordered these filters because my family was in military housing at the time and we had commercial fluorescent lights in our kitchen.The package came simply wrapped and was very straightforward. Magnets along the seams held it up to the rectangular light, the fit wasn't perfect so it did sag a bit. It did soften the light and make the room more homey and less migraine inducing, but they weren’t visually attractive. If I’d had a bit more time I probably could have sewed it a bit for a better fit as well.Mine came folded and therefore had creases, I didn’t want to wash them with the magnets so I left as is, but that’s probably an easy fix.

I purchased the whisper white filters to cover the florescent lights in my classroom, as I often have headaches during the school day. I am still setting up the classroom so I have not experienced the light filters with a classroom full of students yet.Pros1. They are very simple to put up.2. They are worth the price.3. They soften the classroom light very well.4. The color difference is not noticeable once you get used to it.5. It's easier on your eyes - I noticed this leaving my classroom and squinting under the hallway lights.6. My principal walked through my room and didn't notice.Cons1. They are actually a deep beige, not whisper white, which casts a yellow tone over the classroom. The yellow tone makes everything look dirty.2. I also tried the blue shade - way too blue, it looks like you are underwater even with only one light covered. Don't buy the blue.3. Kids will certainly notice that the lights are covered by something - they come folded with lots of creases, and do not go up completely flat - a little billowing action no matter how tightly you stretch the fabric and adjust the magnets.Overall, I would recommend this product and I will continue to use it but I wish it came in a lighter shade of beige or white.

I finally got these for my classroom and I have noticed a huge difference. My students seem calmer and I am not experiencing afternoon headaches like I was getting. I bought the yellow and they give off a warm light. They are also staying on well. They do have the creases where they were folded but I don’t mind. I didn’t have the patience to iron them out 😆.

I really can’t believe the difference this product made!I’ve replaced the need for almost all the fluorescent lights in my classroom with lamps and LED strips, but the four above my desk are controlled by the hallway light switch and can’t be turned off. I found myself getting bad headaches and hating being at my desk.I honestly had low expectations of this product, but wow, what a great result! The whisper white creates this gorgeous warm and lamp-like quality that totally negates the harshness of the fluorescents. It was so easy to put up with the magnets, and mine haven’t had any drooping at all.I’ve been inviting all my colleagues in to see how great these are, and I can’t recommend them enough. A must buy if you’re dealing with those awful fluorescent lights!

Returning the product because the magnets are too weak to hold up to the light but I tried several different colors and this was one of my favorites of how it diffuses the light and creates calming effect, but you would definitely need to reinforce or put up more permanently. I returned bc I'm looking for a product that I can install and remove on a weekly basis since we rent our building once a week for classes and cannot keep installed.

Seem to be working well, although the 'glow' is slightly more 'yellowy' than expected.

These are the only light covers we will use as they include the fire rating approvals.

These make SUCH a difference! My classroom has 14 fluorescent lights in it, and I don’t get a lot of natural light... I put the shades up and it casts a soft glow to the room! I absolutely LOVE them! I was originally going to go with the blue but I’m glad I got the whisper white instead. It is so cozy and you don’t really “notice” the change, you just know something is now better than it was! The blue would have been dramatic. I have attached a photo of after :)

With many students in my class sensitive to the fluorescent lights school boards insist on installing, light covers have made my classroom a more comfortable place to learn. In Educational catalogs we have only been able to find the blue ones, which make you feel like you are in a blue haze cloud. The white ones take a way that effect and are easy to adjust to.They are simple to install as they stick on with magnets. It comes in a set of 4 and is made of fire retardant material.

What I like with the white light filters is that the color does not dim the intensity of the light in the room as does the other colors, but filters the glare emanated by fluorescent lighting.
