Use with care
To the touch, it feels very soft and seems fragile, but it holds water very well and doesn't buckle at all. It remains flat throughout the painting process and dries flat too. It's not a very smooth paper, so fine blending may come as a challenge, but this paper wasn't meant for that. However, the colors just pop against its brownish, aged tone. For the best result, I would use guaches along with watercolor. Overall, I love this paper. It is exactly what I've been looking for. Definitely going to invest in it.

Nope
Handmade qualities of paper are lovely. The color of paper is surface dye only. Once wet, if you want to lift any watercolor applied, you will lift the surface color of paper as well!Best option i found was Derwent inktense pencils and a water brush since you can’t lift that ink anyway once it’s wet.Note: White erasers also lift paper color while erasing sketch marks from 2H or HB pencil. Kneaded eraser is best option to soften pencil lines - don’t try to rub out lines.Fountain pen nibs will skip on surface. Inks applied with fountain, brush, and foam nibs will feather on paper. Fine ballpoint pens work best.

Unique
I like this paper very much. As a watercolor artist, paper, good quality paper, is very important. This is not Arches paper. However there are several things I like. It is unique and I love the way the edges are fashioned. It's less expensive and I like that. It takes longer to dry and paint will run a lot more than Arches. You will have to get used to that. Still, I highly recommend it.

Lovely paper
I love everything about this paper. First off it feels good to buy from a company that acknowledges the artisans that make this paper. Very cool! Now to the paper. I received my pack of paper yesterday. It was packaged and tied with a little ribbon. Made for a pretty presentation.I ordered the off white and it’s lovely. A pretty soft vanilla color . Not dark.I used a couple of sheets just trying it out last evening. It’s definitely a learning curve . One nice thing is I didn’t have to tape it to a board. It stayed flat when I wet it . Washes were ok, just don’t overwork it. I found that it was best to let washes dry and then go back in and add more detail. Like background trees and such. For skies and foregrounds, I found it best to start with a less diluted paint and and add water to soften the color. And work fairly quickly. I didn’t have much luck lifting paint and definitely don’t scrub it or overwork work it. I am sure with practice this will get easier!Painting flowers worked well. ( I don’t paint flowers that well to start with LOL! ). Layering different shades of paint worked very well. And the texture of the paper really made for an attractive result.I struggled a bit with dry brush affects. I also tried to add salt for affect and that didn’t work out. But that very well could be the timing of my adding salt. It can be tricky to get the exact timing on any paper. I also was able to practice in both sides of the sheet of paper with no problems so it’s quite sturdy! This really is beautiful paper. I really like the companies message and respect for it’s employees. It’s a nice big pack for a fantastic price. It’s going to last me awhile!

Absolutely gorgeous paper, easy to paint on
This was one of the most beautiful papers I've ever used. I painted this year's Christmas cards for close friends and family and they came out absolutely spectacular. The "aged look" created with the paper was exactly what I wanted. I used one full box and then bought another one for future projects. Thank you so much for making something so beautiful.

Unexpected versatility
I did a watercolor on this paper and was surprised. It remained relatively flat while wet. I used graphite with my watercolors and the combination came out great on the tinted paper.

Great addition to my journal!
I love to include a wide variety of texture, color, and weight when choosing paper to make handmade journals. This paper is the ideal place for creativity with markers, ink, pencils, even watercolor paints! It will not leak through! It’s sturdy, like a light cardboard without the stiffness, but is easily scored, folded in half, allowing the signature to be sewn into the binding. The raw natural look is superbly attractive in any kind of journal. I’ll be ordering again!
