These struts are the highest force (80lb force) you can find in this size, and they work perfectly for a bunch of different gang tool boxes. These struts have the eyelet ends, but they are removable so you can attach whatever ends you need.

The top of my ottoman is supported by a couple of gas springs. One failed and of course there was no documentation but it was marked 400N which is around 90lbs. I bought two of these 80 lb (350N) gas springs to replace the old parts. I had to use a couple of nuts as spacers but it all works great.The eyelets on my units are 2.9mm thick. As shown n the photo, the eyelets (in my units, anyway) unscrew - the cylinder is (I think) M6 coarse female thread and the piston shaft M4 coarse male. The vendor says the eyelets don't unscrew, so this may be production-run-dependent.I don't know how accurately these are calibrated, but these 80lb springs seem much stiffer than the 400N/90lb springs they replace.Piston and cylinder are both carbon steel - a magnet sticks nicely. They appear sturdy... but only time will tell how long the internal seals will last.

Really cheap metal broke one of the ears off installing it.

These cylinders are very strong and easy to install.And a good buy for the money.

The struts arrived in good condition and were accurately described for size. They seem to be performing well. Very satisfied for the money.
