Using this to control my electric smoker.This little temperature controller has many more functions and settings that I would have expected. Physically, it is smaller than I expected, too: about 2-3/4 W and 1*1/8" H and about 3" DThe sensor probe has fairly fine wires that I was sure would not stand the heat. Wrong! I ran the smoker up tp temp, and the wires showed NO effects at all. The reading is fast, and I believe way more accurate than my built in thermometer, which seemed to read about 40 degrees cold, so I was over cooking everything.There are lots of settings for all sorts of things, but the main ones that I found I would use are the hysteresis (the amount by which the temp must vary in order to turn power on or off), and the set point temperature. Settings are easy to get to in the menus, but the set point increase/decrease adjustment changes by 1/10 degree, so it takes several minutes to change 100 degrees. Once set, I will probably only change by as much as 50 degrees occasionally .Mine came set to read in Centigrade, and was set to control cooling, so these settings had to be changed right away. I also set the hysteresis to 2.5 degrees instead of the default 1 degree, so that there is less cycling.The attachment blocks for the wires seem light to me, particularly for the 30A capacity.So far, this controller works very well, and seems well built, with many possibilities for control.

I have a Masterbuilt electric smoker and the controller quit working. After researching, I found out the Masterbuilt controllers are defective and will fail again. I was going to use a separate relay and temperature controller to control the heater element, then I found this controller with the 30 amp relay. I also purchased the separate mounting box to mount the controller in and it work perfectly. I have much better control of my smoker than ever before. the only minor drawback is the ramp up/down controls does not move very fast and must count every 1/10 degree, but once you set it, it will always remember your setting.

This temperature control is a great product. Easy to hook up and very easy to use. So far, I have put together 3 of these units. 2 for a friend and family and one for myself. This unit will be my 4th and an extra unit just for my camper. Customer service is awesome. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
