Western Humidor Analog Hygrometer
Excellent hygrometer. Looks good and feels solid. According to the salt test, the calibration out of the box was only 3 percent off. A slight turn of the screw in the back and I got it down to 1 percent, which is more than enough for my applications. Much better than the junk I saw at Canadian Tire, which had as much as a 30 percent variation between different units of the same model and no calibration adjusments.

Very good after calibration
Very happy with this, i definitely prefer the appearance and battery free nature of this traditional style hygrometer to the digital ones. Calibration was required and performed overnight with 75% boveda and a sealed bag. I have used it for a few weeks and checked it again using the 75% boveda before posting this review and have found it's readings to be absolutely spot on. I'm very pleased with it and highly recommend to any fellow cigar enthusiasts. Please do remember to calibrate it though, mine required quite a significant adjustment (easily done with a small screwdriver) to read correctly.

The ONLY Hygrometer that I Recommend for Acoustic Guitars. Hygrometer Testing Instructions
UPDATE:I read an Amazon review advocating the use of a digital hygrometer, to test the accuracy of other hygrometers, and it prompted me to update my review.I'm a luthier. I make acoustic guitars. I'm also a biochemist.I have high end digital as well as German made hair hygrometers, all of which cost several factors above the Cigar Oasis, I spot check the accuracy of all of my hygrometers with a professional sling psychrometer. But, this is only a spot check. I check their true accuracy every year and I calibrate as necessary.WARNING: THE ONLY METHOD TO DETERMINE ABSOLUTE ACCURACY, IS THE SALT SLURRY METHOD. Do NOT use a digital hygrometer to check the accuracy of any hygrometer!Digital does NOT mean accurate! This is how you measure the accuracy of a hygrometer:Wet salt enclosed in an airtight container will result in 75% rh.Mix some salt with water to create a thick slurry. Use around 1 tablespoons of salt and add water until it's thoroughly wet, but not so wet that it's runny or drippy. Put it in a small container, like a cap, and place it in a gallon ziploc bag, or another airtight container. You MUST be able to read the hygrometer while it's sealed in with the salt, so I prefer the bag. Put your hygrometer in the bag with the salt slurry. It will take a good 8 hours for the humidity to equalize in the bag, so I set up the bag containing salt and hygrometer in the evening, and I check the hygrometer reading the next morning. This is how it fell out. I own 9 hygrometers.:My 2 German made synthetic hair hygrometers are off by -3 and +4%.My 2 digital hygrometers were off by 6% and 10% (!).My 5 Cigar Oasis hygrometers were off by -1/2%, 0%, +1/2%, 0%, +1%.As you can clearly see, the Cigar Oasis beat them all. My hygrometers can be calibrated. I spent several days trying to take out the inaccuracy. I used a small screwdriver, a light touch, and a lot of patience since it takes 8 hours for the humidity to return to 75%, every time I open the bag. I had no problem calibrating the analog hygrometers. After calibration, the German synthetic hairs were +/- 2%. I never got the digitals better than +/- 3%, with one staying at +/- 6%.Needless to say that the Cigar Oasis hygrometers didn't need calibration.Original review:I have a couple of these in my workshop. I'm a luthier and the guitars that I build and repair, have to stay in 45-55% humidity. I've tested each hygrometer as I get it, using the salt slurry method. Each one has been spot on correct. This is the biggest bang for your buck. It works in a room as well as guitar cases.

PRODOTTO IMPRECISO
Sconsigliato.
