Save $60 - Buy this for the serial number, register and download the free update to the latest version.
Buy this package, then use serial number that comes with it to register on the mixvibes website and download the free update latest version of Cross that way. You don't even need the install disc this comes with, just the number. You will save like 40% over paying for the download straight from their website. This software is pretty rad. It has all the features I could want at a fraction of the price of the more well known DJ programs like Traktor or Serato. You can even mix and scratch video without needing any extra plugins or anything. Beatgrid, bpm and key signature analyzing works pretty well, though occasionally I have to reanalyze a song for bpm or adjust the beatgrid - nothing you wouldn't come across with other programs I think. The effects are pretty nice, though I haven't used them much. I do use the filter and the eq a lot and those work great. Haven't done too much scratching but that seems to work fine. Beatmatching is a breeze. If you're going to use the sync button take time to prep your set and make sure the beatgrids are right. I prefer not to use the sync button so it's not an issue for me. You can load up to two 8 slot sample banks and use them for audio or video (including gifs apparently!) - I still need to play with that. I think you'd want to get your sample bank set up ahead of time because there's not a great way to see both decks, your track collection and the sample banks at the same time.My only complaint is that in order to use two soundcards you need to download ASIO4ALL. I use the soundcard in my laptop plus a usb soundcard for my headphones. I've noticed the audio will drop out for a split second occasionally when my laptop screen turns off from inactivity or if I am turning a lot of knobs at once or quickly sweeping back and forth. Turning off wifi and closing any programs that use audio helps with this. I'm hoping a soundcard with multiple outputs would solve the problem, but it would be nice if the developers came up with a better way to use two soundcards at once.My two favorite unique features are: the way it highlights tracks that are in a key that will go with the currently playing track(s) and the ability to record a set and then upload it to mixcloud.com with an automatically generated track list that is time-stamped. I mix house, ambient, techno, psytrance, lounge and nu disco and you can listen to my mixes at www.mixcloud.com/aurbytal. They were all recorded using Mixvibes Cross (this software).

Not Well Known DJ Software, But A Full Featured Package
Mixvibes Cross isn't the best known DJ Controller package. That honor belongs to packages such as TRAKTOR and Virtual DJ. Yet this DJ package has much to recommend it. It is stable, runs on multiple platforms (Macs, PCs, etc.) and is feature rich without being bloated with rarely used features. Plus, it supports a variety of DJ MIDI controllers. And, importantly, Cross supports my iTunes library. You can customize the stock controllers and add controllers in the unlikely event that your particular hardware MIDI controller isn't supported. (This was handy for me because, as an Internet DJ, I mix using the channel faders and not with the cross fader. It's too easily to accidently bump the cross fader, so by using a modified controller preference in Cross I was able to disable the cross fader.)There are some things that could be improved. Cross only supports two virtual decks. While this is what I use 90% of the time, there are instances when I could use a third or fourth deck. In addition, this is a Windows port. As a Mac user, the UI shows all the non-Mac elements of the porting. Preferences, for example, are located under the Edit menu instead of the more Mac-like location in the Apple menu. The iTunes implementation, while it works well, looks awkward in how the UI was implemented. It looks like what it probably was--a bolt on. Finally, I haven't been able to make much use of the Beat CDs and records that came in the package, but that may be more my than Cross's issue.Still, the flexibility, capabilities, features and stability of Mixvibes Cross makes up for any of these shortcomings. All-in-all Cross is a great DJ Controller package that deserves much more recogition. It does everything that I need for my Internet radio show.

Terrific so far
I've been waiting to get my hands on Cross for MONTHS now and I've finally got it. :'D It works just as I expected so far. based on my experience with Serato Intro, Cross works a pinch better and has some advantages over Serato when it comes to being chock-full of features at a great price. I haven't used the Video DJing feature in Cross yet but when I do, I'll leave an updated review. The main reason why I bought Cross was because of Soundcloud DJing, which allows to DJ at my free whim with any track without having to toil hundred of dollars at high quality paid-for music and since I've had a bad experience with pirated music, I'll just stick to Cross in the short run.I'm still an amateur when it comes to Djing and I am certainly no DJ but when I develop these skills, I'll test out the more options Cross has to offer (which might leave me to giving you guys a 5* review) but since I haven't tried everything Cross has to offer, a 4* review will do momentarily.Rock on, Mixvibes. :D

I have tractor, serato, vdj, pcdj, og final scratch and now I can ditch those pices of garbage because I have cross!
If you use any of the new pioneer cdj's then you know about rekordbox. Well mix vibes the makers of cross made rekordbox for pioneer. You can export your playlists with hot cues from rekordbox to cross. And best of all all the cdj's are per maped so no worries plus it is extremely stable and full featured u can hook up 16 midi controllers at once and all sound cards are supported. I'm using my cdj's a akai lpd8 for samples and my setup is bomb. I sayPioneer Dj uses them for rekordbox so when I got my nexus CDJ's. it was obviously the best choice

Wrong Item Depicted; Audio-Music-USA Fails to Rectify
The image of the product is of "MixVibes Cross" in a black box. What Audio-Music-USA sent is "MixVibes Cross DJ", which comes in a white box and doesn't have the same capabilities as the software version that comes in a black box. What's more annoying is Audio-Music-USA promised to rectify the situation and has failed. You might be better off doing business with someone else.
