According to those I talk with the mic is good quality. It is a bit sensitive
Bought to replace a gaming headset that had a mishap with a vacuum cleaner. I can't say much about sound quality as I only use them for VOIP through Skype and mumble, so most of the quality depends on the connection and codec used. According to those I talk with the mic is good quality. It is a bit sensitive, picking up all sorts of sounds around my house, but I can't really knock it for that since it does sound good. The headset itself is mostly plastic but seems sturdy. The mic boom clicks solidly between positions and can be rotated a full 180 if you choose to wear it on the other side. They are closed over ear headphones, so they make your ears a bit warm but that is expected.Overall these serve my purpose very well and are a very good deal for the price. Would purchase again.Update 3/4/2016About 6 months ago the cord had a run in with a vacuum cleaner. It unfortunately pulled out some wires from their solder joints in the small inline volume dongle. Attempts to repair were hindered by the close spacing and enamel coating on the mic wire. My soldering skills were unfortunately not up to the task and as such I had to retire the headset. This does not change my rating as it was my fault. But be careful not to pull the cord too hard as it relies solely on the solder joints in the volume dongle to stay together.

An excellent workhorse headset.
My SB-45 headset finally wore through the mic cable last week and stopped working. So, you might ask, why am I here giving this headset a 5-star review? I teach online classes and used this little $25 headset more than 10 hours per week, every week, for more than 3 years before the mic finally gave it up. And that's not counting any online gaming or listening to music. For me, the headphones fit great and weren't too tight, though it might take a bit of getting used to. I do wear glasses and have a large head, so I'm not feeling the reviews that say these headphones cut into your skull or push your glasses into your head. The bass frequencies and overall clarity of this set is very good. The microphone always worked well -- clear and strong, but not exactly professional quality. Then again, you can't expect that for $25. Really the best headset I've owned and I'm ordering another posthaste. After an autopsy on the old set, the microphone wire wore through and snapped at the swivel joint where the microphone arm attaches to the left ear cup. I'd been in the habit of swinging the microphone up and out-of-the way several times a day for over 3 years, so that's not surprising. With my new set, I'm going to leave the mic down and hang the set up when not in use, avoiding use of the swivel feature.

I have to rate these
I don't normally write review but I have to say something about these. I'm a fan. I work in a job where I'm on the phone or teleconferencing most of the day everyday. Over time, I've actually purchased six of these. I always have two that I use throughout the day; one connected to my phone and one to my computer. I've actually been known to have both on at the same time, but that's rare. They've clear, reliable and comfortable to wear all day. I've only had to replace them once after my cat chewed one up, my kid threw another down the stairs and a co-worker yanked the end off one of the wires. My recommendation - Definitely try these first. They're great. The only reason I rated noise canceling low is because they don't have active noise canceling, it's purely passive. Great design.

The mic-design ruins EVERYTHING
These are very comfortable, work in Linux (Debian), sound good both speaking and listening, but the mic has got to be the worst design choice ever made on a headset. It is on a funny kind of rubber stalk that's bendable enough to "curl" it towards the mouth as needed, and the whole stalk can be rotated up and down (though this is awkward as it always wants to notch in place at the wrong angles), but there is NO WAY to adjust it so that it can't be seen and still work. You can move it so that it pokes into your chin or throat where you can't see it but then it won't hear you. You can adjust it to where its sitting next to your mouth where it can hear you but then you can always see it. And don't think you'll forget about it either because (even if you're lucky enough to get it adjusted to where it isn't scratching your face all the time) it wiggles wildly like some kind of cheap rubber toddler toy just to ensure that you'll be always distracted by it. Overall construction is cheap and fragile, but that's not a big deal. The REAL reason I returned it was because of the abominable mic. I plan to replace this with a free-standing mic and headphones as I've rarely if ever owned or heard of a headset with a really well designed mic. It seems to always be the weak point with headsets.

This is a very good headset, suitable for many uses
The build is very good. Comfort is also very good, mic work well. The sound quality is good, above average.I wish the earpads were deeper with mora padding, also that would provide more sound isolation, as they are only good in that department, not great. The sound signature is very nice and pleasant, slight emphasis on voice clarity - so as a headset they work well. For music, they are ok, but not amazing.

Good headset at an affordable price.
Headset works out of the box. Quality is good considering the affordable price. Head band is a liitle tight but I guess it will loosen with use.
