This is a much warmer version of the old standard Columbia fleeces. It costs a good bit more, but it is *significantly* warmer (in fact, it's too warm for the mildly cool conditions in which I have worn the old Columbia fleeces for years). It is thicker, extends about 2.5" (maybe 3") farther down over my pelvis, and worth it (I think) for conditions too cold for the old Columbia fleeces but not cold enough to require one of my down parkas.

Great product, but was to big for me! I returned and got a smaller size.
