Works great
Worked for my yard

Not bad
Very sturdy material. Worked well in wet and soft soil. If you have some clay solid soil it will be very difficult to use. The hard soil will stay in the tube, very hard to clean up.

Good quality, poor design effectiveness
The price is right. It assembled easily and the idea is great. Unfortunately, it just didn't work well, nor as advertised. Florida soil would NOT eject no matter how wet or dry. Sorry to give it 3 stars, but just wouldn't work, no matter what I did.

Sturdy and lightweight
Does what it’s supposed to. Only recommended for small areas to aerate, as it’s a lot of manual work.

Dont waste the money...
Not expensive, but a total waste of time! 99.9% of the time, it's just pushing dirt down, not making holes, and coring the ground. Tool sent to clean out the stuck dirt is worthless! Last, the part that makes the hole, isnt even sharp. Takes so much force to make holes in the ground. No matter if the ground is wet, dry, or even just moist. For the price of this tool, and the amount of time itll take to do your yard, just rent a gas powered 1 from Home Depot. You'll be done in 2 hours, instead of the 2 days it would take with this thing. Terrible product!

might work if your lawn isn't too compacted
I used this product to aerate my compacted lawn. It's a small lawn so I thought I could do it by hand, but it was tough work - both for me, and apparently the aerator. The metal fatigued as I had to work it back and forth to get it to dig in, and it broke less than a year after purchase and without particularly heavy use.

Great for small areas
It worked great for spot-aerating some areas of my lawn that were compacted from pavers previously in the spot. Pro tip - water the area thoroughly a few hours before attempting and the sod plugs will eject out of the holes much easier.

Works when used... right
It ONLY adjusts 3". The handle top is either 32.5 or 35.5 inches above the foot plate. I appreciate the nylon anti-vibration / locking nuts, but they make putting it together with the TINY wrenches provided frustrating and difficult - I used a 13mm wrench, socket and ratchet.I read a lot of manual aerator reviews. Of this item and others. I waited until it rained most of a day. Then I waited until the ground wasn't muddy. I placed it where I wanted it and stepped on the bottom cross bar / plate. Sometimes I had to step on a coring tube to get it all the way into the ground. Then I pulled the handle straight up. A lot of the reviews that said it broke, said that they 'wiggled' on the handle to get the coring tubes out of the ground (so I did NOT do THAT).Pulling it up out of the ground got tiring, so I switched how I used it. After I pulled it up; I put the bottom of the coring tubes where I wanted them, but I didn't step forward - putting the unit at a slight angle . I stepped forward and pushed it in (with one foot still at the last position). I then put both feet behind the unit and leaned back to pull it out.'Cores' of dirt/sod sometimes came out the top, sometimes it didn't. The soil stuck in the tubes NEVER came out "smoothly". I ended up pounding a piece of rebar into the tubes and then using the cleaning tool to scrape the remaining. The grip material on the handles is kinda ruff (for good grip) - it started to give me a blister, so I put on gardening gloves. As it only adjusts 3", I suspect it will be uncomfortable for people over 6' tall to use.I WILL drill a hole in the handle of the cleaning tool and make a way to hang it on my belt before I use it again.

Got stuck with dirt all the time.
My first time using such a tool, but it didn't feel right. It got stuck with dirt constantly. Spent too much time clearing it.
