The bottom line for becoming a good bridge player.
This is a methodical breakdown of the various card combinations and permutations you must understand to effectively play the hand in bridge. It is a seminal work which grounds you in the axiomatic essentials for becoming a good bridge player. It is clear and meticulous. If you can get a solid grasp of this material, you can become a great player. I love this book because it lets you know that if you can grasp its essentials, you will be an existential threat to all your opponents.Phillip Rohlin

Basic Bridge Library
This is a slow, but essential, read for almost anyone who wants to become a competitive bridge player. If you already are a life master and can flawlessly execute basic card play through more advanced end plays, you might not benefit much from this book. Similarly, if Bridge for Dummies seems to be all that you need, this probably is not the book for you. However, if you want to become a better card player -- this book has nothing to do with bidding -- and fall in between these two groups, this book provides soup-to-nuts coverage of the basics. As noted, it is a bit slow, although over time it reads a bit faster and is well worth the read. I have read most of the classic bridge books, and this is one of the ones that always will have a place on my shelf.

Great examples.
Very instructive. Step by Step of play for many of the scenarios you will see at bridge.Great examples.....and explanations for each. The idea is to go over the example hands again and again as that's what you will experience, 95% of the time.

Just a photocopy of the old book
I thought this was going to be a new, revised edition with the latest skill techniques. Instead, it is just a photocopy of the old book. Waste of money.
