Mine was defective
UPDATE:After the mechanism inside my original purchase came apart, the seller kindly replaced my machine with a newer model (I originally purchased the red cylindrical one and they sent me a black square shaped one). I am honestly really pleased and relieved with the newer model! I actually got it to make a pretty decent powdery grind for espresso. Sure there were a few stray pieces that were larger, but it was almost akin to the grind I'm able to get at work with our expensive machines. I'm really surprised something portable and so small did a decent job grinding down to a powder. Updating my rating from 2 to 5 stars because I really can't find any fault with it, especially for the price. It takes a while to grind but it's worth it to not have to buy an expensive machine when I only need a few ounces for a shot of espresso each day. Shout out to the seller for messaging me till I saw it and replacing it for me. Thank you!!----------------Definitely not for espresso grind. This is probably great if you're just looking for a medium or coarse grind for drip coffee. But even on the finest setting mine was grinding incredibly inconsistent. It's probably defective, because the hardware in the middle keeps popping up out of place. Because it's loose its letting huge pieces of coffee fall out as it's grinding. The bottom piece that the grinds fall through wobbles as it rotates so again, incredibly inconsistent. I couldn't manage to get a fine grind at all.But again, if you're just looking for a bigger size grind for regular coffee this would work for you.

fatal flaw in design
The E clip that holds the burr shaft up can come off during grinding. Without it, the shaft drops down as in the last photo and no longer grinds the beans. This was mentioned in another review, but I took the chance and bought the grinder anyway because there were so many other good reviews. Sure enough, within the first few uses, the E clip popped off. That time I found it in the grounds unharmed. I popped it back on and the grinder worked well for about another week. Then it popped off again and this time it got caught in the burrs and bent. It seems like lighter roasts, which require more force to grind, are apt to pop it off.If the manufacturer is reading this, you should use a ring clip instead of an E clip. Because a ring clip would go all the way around the shaft, I think it would stay on securely. You can get replacement E clips from your local hardware store. That's what I did, but it's a pain. Ideally, I would replace it with a ring clip, but I lost the washer that goes under the clip, and a ring clip is too skinny to work without a well-sized washer. If it weren't for the fatal flaw of the clip, I would give this a 4 or 5 star review. I love how compact it is. It produces as good a grind as any other burr grinder I've had. The auto-stop feature when the beans run out is great. Although it isn't as fast as a larger grinder, I could start it along with my electric kettle and forget about both as I went about my morning routine, then come back to find nicely ground coffee (unless the E clip popped off). The hopper holds just enough beans for one 32 oz french press. A nit-pick is that it won't grind while it is charging.Fix the E clip flaw and this will be an awesome product.

Worth the price
I'm an avid coffee drinker and I really enjoy grinding coffee beans. This grinder is definitely worth the price but not because of its performance more so because of its convenience.First the flaws:- It doesn't grind evenly when set to medium which is what I use for my coffee maker. It's good at grinding coarse or fine but not medium- The power button is inconveniently located where you hold the grinder, this causes to accidentally turn it on- The bean holder capacity is just too small. The good:- Battery operated and rechargeable- Quality of materials on pair with the price- Easy to use if you know what you're doingThings to pay close attention:When disassembling the unit for cleaning pay attention to 3 pieces:- the spring on the metal rod- the plastic base of the burr and- the plastic piece that screws to the rod. They are easy to looseIf you want coffee grinds as evenly as possible for a drip coffee machine, use the fine setting by turning the plastic piece all the way up and then back down about 9 clicks. When it stops turn it on again and shake it so it grinds all the beans.Update. Seven months have passed of normal every day use and the burr piece just broke in half (see picture). The battery still charging good

Amazing Battery Life
I hate power cords cluttering the kitchen cabinet, so a rechargeable grinder was one of my main criteria. My grinder lasted abut two weeks on its first charge, preparing two or three cups of coffee each day. That's around thirty or forty cups between charges. Nice!Since this is my first grinder, I can't make many comparisons. It seems a little slow and is noisy. When I have company I carry it into another room! But it shuts off when it's finished, the coffee grounds seem reasonably consistent in size. As other reviews note, finding the right setting initially is a matter of trial and error. The grinder's small size is a plus and a minus. It fit easily in my kitchen cabinet, but the hopper for beans is small, holding maybe four tablespoons.PRORechargeable battery lasts a long timeBurr grinder, not stainless steelAuto-shutoffEasy to useConsistent grindingCONNoisySlow

I had hoped it was fixed
Sadly the 7th Feb review is 100% right. Was fantastic for quite a while then the E clip somehow came off and went through. Fortunately the burr is fine but now it won’t event grind so even if I find a replacement I can’t use it anymore. Purchased in March, can’t use it in may. Rather frustrating to be honest est over such a small piece.
