Calling On Dragons

If you like dragons. Wizards. Witches and 6 ft (Well almost 7ft with the ears) blue flying donkeys then you will love this. Fun continuation of a very nice 'fairy tales.

Nearly 30 years ago, a friend gave me a bag of books to read. There was a delightful little book called "It's Wise to be Polite When Talking to Dragons " I never could find the book again until a few years ago when I found the whole series in a used book shop. I snapped up all of them and have enjoyed them several times a year ever since. My kids also read and re-read them several times a year. Cimorene is my favorite princess ever. She is a determined lady and doesn't wait around passively for things to happen. She is determined to control her own destiny and she hates boredom. These books have brightened a lot of hours. Wish there were more like them.

I bought this at the request of my 14-year-old daughter, who originally purchased and read Dealing with Dragons: Enchanted Forest Chronicles, Book 1 four years ago, and had worn out the entire series with subsequent re-readings. She is a voluble kid, and lets us know when she enjoys something -- and when she thinks something is crap. Patricia C. Wrede has supplied my daughter with the real deal: funny, mischievous, and dramatically compelling stuff.

Suitable for homeschool reading education. Wish we'd have had it. But my grands will. The story is good enough to capture attention and enciurage reading through the series.
