My first impressions were that this is well made, the quality of the materials and finish are extremely good. However that's where the positives end I am sorry to say. Basically the light fails in every respect of it's advertised functions:1. The light itself is by no means the brightest. I have cheaper lights that are brighter.2. The brake light function is erratic, it only seems to work well if you brake sharply, which is not advisable unless necessary for emergencies.3. The light has 4 modes and in three of them it turns itself off after 30 seconds. This is way too short a time duration in most on road uses of a bicycle. Also it is meant to turn back on once vibration is sensed again...this did not happen in any of those suggested 3 modes.If the light does not come back on, how am I meant to know (this is a rear light after all), this is so dangerous at night and in traffic/dimly lit back roads etc. A light that you cannot trust is pretty much useless, so I have returned for a refund. I have had two different makes of intelligent brake-light and both did not function well. My conclusion is that the motion sensor these systems use is not really up to the task.Just buy yourself the brightest rear light you can find and put it onto a strobe setting so as to make yourself as visible as possible. Until this technology improves they are not to be relied upon to give a cyclist the protection they need.

Generally, I prefer battery lights that take old-fashioned batteries. I have found that most USB charged lights have had very limited life. But this seems to be an exception. I have been running it for over a year now, and it has never run down. I have re-charged it a few times, but only because I felt I should. It is bright and easy to mount. Mine came with a seat fix and a post fix, which means i have been able to use it on two bikes with easy changeover. Frankly, I had not realized that it had the braking light function, so this came as a bonus to me. I normally use the light on a bike with a hub generator and fixed lights, so this is an extra light: anything for extra visibility. However, i would have no issue with using this as my only tail light. It survives heavy rain storms, which some of my other lights do not. I really do like this, so much so that I have just ordered another. (EDIT) There seem to be 2 QUITE DIFFERENT LIGHTS being reviewed here. I have 2 of this model. XIAOKOA Smart Bike Tail Light, Bicycle Lights with USB Rechargeable Bike Brake Lights, This has only red lights, and the seat fitment has a definite "C" curve to go around the seat rails. This is a great tail light, and as far as I can see, much better than the white looking one, with multi-coloured flashing. Mine has Xiaokoa written on the box. At least one of the others, negatively reviewed reviewed by John in the United Kingdom on 22 August 2020,shows a different box, with LAOPRO on the box. The fittings are also different.

Love it. Purchased as a 2nd light for my bike and it is very well made. Solid USB connector (often a weak point on some lights). Love the battery indicator mode, nice and easy to read and reminds you each time you switch flashing modes. I fitted mine under the saddle (tip, put a tie-wrap on the saddle rails first and then apply - you get a super tight grip without marking the saddle rails or over tighten. The three modes are more than good enough though I wish the steady mode allowed for an extra bright mode for rain or foggy conditions. All-in-All, great light, I have no problem giving this a five-star marking. My main rear light is the Lupine one and this compliments it very nicely.

What's not to like, comes with 2 types of fixings, for the seat post or or under the seat bracket, lasts a long time, very bright, decent usb port which is hidden once you screw the light into the holder, the bracket for under seat hanging is sturdy and they include a small hex key for installation, I've used the rubber seat post mounting as I prefer it. Much cheaper that other usb rear lights, highly recommended

When I ordered this, I was really hoping for the best, as I really liked the look of the products, from it's listing images. Item arrived quickly and when I first held it, it was easy to see, it was made from high quality materials, this also includes the power button, which controls the different modes. Mounting the light, was super easy, I chose to mount under the seat, which only tool a few minutes, it was very easy to see where each piece needed to go and there were instructions included, that were clear. Over ll very pleased and would purchase again from this seller.

Product works well and visibility from a distance in daylight is fine.. l mounted light on rear of carrier and a small spacer was tapped to carrier to take up strap flex and keep steady!

I bought this for my friends son. They live in an area where there’s not much street lighting si it’s very important for him to have good lights on his bike.This is really bright and you can change it to what lighting is needed as it has 4 different modes. I could see it easily from about 100 metres.It was really easy to charge and fit and feels really good quality.It came well packaged so it shouldn’t get damaged in the delivery.

The fitting under the seat works well. Pretty solid, no wobble or anything like that even after driving for weeks now. The break light function is great. And would be even better if it worked on all settings not just the blink settings (2 out of 4). This is as described in the manual. Not sure why it was implemented that way.While the box had a sticker with the XIAOKOA name on it, the light and box were labelled "LAOPAO". The documentation showed "Smart eye Q5". All a bit confusing. The same light seems to be sold under different names. Search YouTube and you will find various ones. Still, so far very happy with getting this one.
