Great 3-5 day trip that is sized perfectly
This bag is the perfect size for a personal item. With airlines that check specifically you can use the non expanded version. With the larger airlines who are a little more lax- you can expand a bit. Here are a couple of useful notes about the bag that were not evident. There is a separate zipper off the back for the laptop BUT it is not a separate compartmented. This works better than I thought and saves on space of another divider. There is enough padding on back and whatever clothes you pack. The expansion makes a pretty difference in capacity because it allows the half the “lid” to be deeper which allows another couple layers of additional clothing. I would argue that it gives you another 1-2 days worth of clothes without making it way bigger. It’s perfectly sized for some bonus space. The front organizational compartment is very nice and placed appropriately. I like that it does not go full to the bottom because that avoids have to dig around endlessly to try and find something. However you will only fit the essentials. The straps, zippers, handles, etc are all good quality. Other bags have too many straps or too much length and turn into clutter that gets hung up or caught. This bag has just the right amount. The actual steps when worn fully packed is more comfortable than most in its class. Not nearly good enough for a day long hike - but plenty for commuting and working your way around an airport. The 2 water bottle holders on each side are nice Additon as you can use 1 of them for something else and the other for a water bottle. For example an umbrella or compact neck pillow or pair of gloves/ rolled up sun hat.The only Additon I would like is perhaps a small bungee strap above the very front stash pocket and maybe 1 or 2 stitched loops on front of bag for a carabiner clip, sunglass case clip, etc. Everything else is a home run so far after a week long trip.Although this is a little more expensive than others that can be found on Amazon- in this case it is worth the extra cost for the quality and perfect blend of size and compartments for those of us too cheap to pay for carryon. 1 trip without buying carryon pays for the bag and every other use from there on out is gravy!

Good quality backup
Good quality. Value for money, the best thing is that it can size up which is nice for personal back on the plane.

Fantastic!
This pack is exactly what I wanted. It's sturdy and well layed out. Just the right amount of pockets without having too many. Two water bottle pouches! In the collapsed state it is just right for a small carry on or for bopping around town. In the expanded state it is big enough for a weekend getaway. I love the straps. They are so comfortable! I ordered the black one even though I wanted the green one, which was out of stock. I'm not disappointed. It looks just fine. It's actually kind of charcoal grey in indoor light but looks black in sunlight.

Excellent for traveling
This pack is super roomy and yet works as a "personal item" on flights (fits under seat). The clam shell design makes it very convenient to pack and to access things. And the special zipper for accessing a laptop or tablet stowed in the integrated sleeve is very helpful when traveling. The mesh sleeves on the sides are big enough to accommodate a good-sized water bottle and compact umbrella. I've been traveling with this for 2-1/2 months now and haven't yet encountered any issue or inconvenience. And I almost always have ideas for improvements :). Not this time. And of course it's well-made and lifetime guaranteed as for all Osprey products. Highly recommended.

Not even close to other backpacks this is the best for a travel day back
Quality quality quality that is the word for this backpack. 🎒 especially like the slip over feature for carrying on luggage. You just slide it over the handle of your carry-on and the way you go. The fact that it opens up like a mini suitcase allows you to pack much more efficiently and their traditional backpack where you have to stuff it in from the top. The quality seems to be first rate the material seems extremely durable. I expect this to last a long time many miles of travel very happy. 😃

Good, Not Great (To small for one bag travel)
OK, so I travel for work around 50% of the time. Most of my trips, I travel with one back pack for up to a week. I purchased this because of the weight savings from my current 30L travel bag. Overall criteria is something that is light weight, can hold my stuff, will fit under an airplane seat, and looks OK for an office environment. I returned it for the following reasons.... 1) Lack of organization. This bag opens as a suitcase with a small organizer pocket and a front stash pocket. 2) The Laptop compartment is only accessible through the suitcase section. This is odd, and inconvenient. 3) Regardless of the "liter" rating, it is to small to hold my travel gear compressed, and is to tall to fit under an airplane seat when expanded. 4) Lastly, a small thing..... there is only one compression strap inside the bag. For me this is not very useful when packing. I mostly do not use packing cubes so I can maximize all of the space available. I gave the bag four stars because it is still a good well made Osprey pack. I'm sure it can work for someone but not me.

Excellent Pack
Got this for traveling in the minimalist style so as to avoid baggage fees. Combined with packing cubes, a lot can fit in this bag. Added to the monetary savings is the piece of mind that all of your things are with you and won't be lost by the airlines, nor will anything get damaged in the hold. The material is sturdy and thus far the seams and zippers are holding up just fine. Happy travels.

Great travel bag
Used it for the first time on a trip and it was the perfect personal article for air travel. The backpack feels durable and can fit a few days worth of clothes. I would have preferred if the laptop compartment was completely separate in case something spills or leaks but it's not a major issue. I plan to continue using this bag for all future travels.

Spacious and easy to pack, durable
This backpack is amazing. It's extremely spacious for the size, great as a personal item carry on and can squeeze if not expanded under a Ryanair seat.Back can be abit hard, but overall very comfortable to wear on day trips.I'm a xxl size make and managed to pack using compression cubes 5 Tshirts, 4 trousers and some underwear with sundry items, however there is no space for shoes after this.Overall great value for money bag.

Muy útil para viajes de fines de semana
Muy buena calidad y con capacidad de hasta 4 días a no ser que se viaje en invierno que podría ser para un par días. Se puede llevar en cabina. Muy contento con la compra

Great "personal item" sized pack for taking on budget airlines
The media could not be loaded. We ordered 2 of these backpacks, and used them for an 8 day trip to the States on Lynx airlines. With the ability to expand an extra 6 liters, it's easy to put in a jacket and additional items you want to put in the pack when you're not in maximum "minimalist" mode to get through airline check-in and boarding. :)Traveler 1: It’s got many storage compartments and all my stuff for 7 nights fit in nicely.Traveler 2: I also fit everything for 7 nights / 8 days into the pack, which included all the necessary running gear to run Rim to Rim at the Grand Canyon. The clamshell design makes access to everything really easy, much like a "normal" suitcase. Various pockets really help keep things organized, and the bottle holders on each side are invaluable.Minor Drawbacks:1. There is only one buckle strap to secure clothes right in the middle inside the main compartment. It would have been better if they made two straps to secure belongings inside so they don’t slide around so much.2. The computer/tablet compartment located inside the main compartment. Traveler 1 found it troublesome getting tablet out when going through customs. However, this will depend on how and what has been packed - packing cubes may help.3. There’s no waist belt to help even out the weight of the backpack when it’s fully loaded. Traveler 1 observes that 7 kg / 15 lbs (the limit of personal item on some budget airlines) could be quite uncomfortable weight to carry around for travelers who need to walk and stand a lot. However, Traveler 2 things the sternum strap really helps out. Also, the lack of a waist belt also means there are fewer straps to keep untangled. The above are minor issues (or potential improvements) only. Overall, this pack is ideal for minimalist travelling while maximizing what you can take within the personal item restrictions. Highly recommended.

Really well thought through and versatile
This bag has the maximum space you can get away with in a carry on, while also being able to convert into a smaller profile for a day bag.It has lots of different compartments which are really well thought through. I can sense the care that the designers put into each section. It's really great. The zip and strap quality is also solid.I recommend using packing cubes with this bag as the combination of both kept me organised on my three week trip with a single bag.
