Battery for older laptop works great.

Well I thought I would finally leave a review of the first replacement battery that I purchased from the seller BAT on the marketplace for our HP ENVY m6 Notebook PC back in May of 2017. Overall I believe that we received adequate battery performance over the 2 years and 10 months that it was installed in the Notebook. Of course mileage did vary on battery power alone depending on the applications being used, but performance appeared to be about as good as when the original battery was being used. Nearing the end of the battery's useful life, about one month ago, it began to discharge faster and I ultimately began receiving system messages upon boot to replace the battery.As far as power settings, I used conservative energy settings while the Notebook was used on battery power and also tried to be careful not to completely discharge the battery, less than 20% or leave the charging cable plugged into the Notebook for extended periods to avoid overcharging.Overall I felt the value and performance were worth it and just purchased my second replacement battery from BAT. Hopefully this one does just as well.

A bit of background: this is the third time I have had to by a replacement battery for my laptop. Both times previously (from different sellers) they started out lasting about 2-2.5 hours and then both had partially or completely failed within less than a year. I opened up one of the ones that failed (again, from a different seller, not this one) and determined that, in spite of being advertized as 62Wh or 5200mAh (six 2600mAh cells with two in parallel, three in series), which would be the typical capacity for most OEM laptop batteries, they actually contained 1800mAh cells, or about 40Wh. I haven't opened up this one, as the case is sealed in such a way that I would basically have to destroy the plastic case to open it.So far, my experience with this battery is only marginally better than my previous experience. As another reviewer mentioned, HWmonitor detects it as a 50Wh battery instead of 62Wh (equivalent to about 2200mAh cells). In practice, I get maybe 3 hours battery life, which is a bit better than the other generics I have used, but still not the advertised capacity.That said, 3 hours battery life is fine for my needs, but the real question is whether this battery will last any longer than a year. The original OEM battery lasted around 4 years, so I don't know why these generics fail so easily. If this battery fails prematurely, I will hopefully remember to come back and edit this review.EDIT: 8/8/2018Over a year later, and the battery is still working! However, the capacity has degraded by about 40%, and HW monitor now detects it as about a 30WH max capacity at full charge. In practice, I get maybe 2 hours of batter life, which is still okay but not ideal. Overall, this is still the best generic I've tried so far, so I would say I recommend it.

Fits my HP laptop perfectly. Capacity same as original. Price is good.

I purchased this to replace a dead battery in my HP Envy M6 notebook that I've owned for several years. It is identical to the old battery and works as advertised. The only issue that I have with it is that the battery drains pretty quick despite my laptop being asleep but that could just be that my laptop itself is old. For the $26 price tag, I can't complain about that too much. Overall, I am happy with this product.

So, so easy to remove and install, cheap too.

This was a great purchase, easy to install and I've noticed longer lasting use with it right away. The price was good too. I'm happy with this all around. i can't speak on the longevity because I've only used it for about a month.

Yes, the battery fits and works. No, it doesn't last as long per charge. The original battery was good for about 6 hours of work, this one lasts about half as long. Since HP no longer offers the OEM battery one is stuck with whatever one can find. It's an ok purchase but nothing to write home about.
