We mounted the light vertically to the side of a wall to illuminate a small picture about eight feet away, and it did the job well. The light is very bright.The only con about the light is its short cord. We mounted it so the top of the light (vertically) was about eight feet from the floor. The nearest outlet was in a standard spot about six inches from the floor but about 2.5 feet to the right of the light, and we needed to use an extension cord. So, you might consider purchasing an extension cord with the light if you don't have one already, depending on where you plan to use it.

The item offers a longer cord than another brand I purchased. The lighting itself is great for a small space. It tends to lose its appearance in larger spaces. It’s rather dim but for 36w it is what it is.. price point is great for this item. Quality overall is very good the brackets are a bit flimsy but not an issue since the lamp itself is very lightweight…overall yes this is a quality product.

I used this for my black light stream for my birthday and for how small it is it is super bright and it worked perfectly for what I wanted. It has a wall mount and you can angle it however you want while it's on the wallmount which makes it easy. I love it!!

I got this bar for some UV photography. I will update this after I see how it performs. Does not work for what I got it for. I have put it to use. If I was lighting a room I would buy another one. Well built, fairly bright, light weight. Had it on for about an hour and was cool to the touch. WORTH THE MONEY.

I got this ultraviolet light source to enhance my display of opal and uranium ores. I was surprised with how bright it was and how much better it was than the glass tube fluorescent lights. I am actually going to buy another one to give even more lighting. The two photos show the opal glowing. The uranium ore didn't seem to respond as brightly to this frequency. Very happy with the product.

I bought two of these to use in brown marmorated stink bug traps, replacing 75 watt incandescent black lights. And I'm really glad that I did. I expected them to be cheesy for the price. They seem well made to me. I expected the power cord to be stiff, making it difficult to position the light without attaching it to something. The cord is flexible and works just fine. Included are mounting brackets that allow positioning the assemblies and then locking them in place -- and wall anchors and screws for the brackets. There's an ON-OFF rocker switch in the cord, and it seems substantial. Even the boxes they came in are good -- unusual for an inexpensive imported item. I am pleasantly surprised.I was a bit concerned when I saw the warning sticker that said the would could get hot. It gets warm, not hot. After more than 12 hours of operation it is only warm.

Being a child of the 1960's, black light means darkness with things glowing. There should be very little visible light to make this effect truly powerful. This product advertises a spectrum of 380-400 nano-meters, but I suspect it is more like 380 to 480 or so, as there is lots of visible light. Not that you would want to read by it, but you can. I was looking for a replacement of a black light fluorescent tube, which put out very little visible light, with a spectrum of about 380 to 420. I have one which is a true black light, as there is practically no visible light. It probably cuts off at about 405, maybe 410 nano-meters. I am looking for filter material which will block the visible light (430 to over 700 nano-meters, so that I can get the real glow-in-the-DARK black light experience. Once I do, than this should be an excellent light source, as it is very powerful, with things visibly fluorescing in a well-lit room. It comes with a mounting kit which holds the unit away from the mounting surface, so air flow for cooling is assured. I estimate that this fixture could easily light up an area four or five meters on a side with ultraviolet light. This fixture is likely to be highly attractive for insects, as they see this kind of light very clearly at night, so if you are interested in making a bug zapper, this is a good light source. Probably most people will find the fixture fun, because it will make things glow a bit when there are regular lights on, and the fixture puts out enough visible light that moving about is safe with only the fixture making light. The kind of black light I am looking for is dangerous for big party scenes, because people can not see where they are going. Black light. Radiation that we cannot detect, that cause effects than we can detect. Material which glows, or 'fluoresces', when struck by ultraviolet light, like cat urine. Black light posters are awesome! 'Glow-in-the-dark' often means that it has to be pretty dark to see the glow, unless you have a fixture like this.

For my purpose, the 36Watt (equivalent) is slightly weak, it is a solid product though. The output is probably equivalent to 25 Watt.

Works okay but not well. Got this for my son with a wall tapestry. The tapestry isn’t that big and the black light sitting right under it on the shelf doesn’t hit the whole tapestry. The only way to have it hit the whole thing is to hold it up in the air in the centre a couple feet away. So having it on opposite wall on a shelf doesn’t work because its too far away (even in a smaller room).
