Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome: Tests, Causes and Treatment Options

WASTE OF MONEY
I was very disappointed in this book. I found it very repetitious and lacking in anything new or helpful. I , like anyone who has been suffering from CVS already know the information in this book, we live it . The longest and most detailed section involved meditation. The length of episodes listed is not typical. I wish I had only one "really" bad day during a CVS episode.... It would have been more helpful if there was information on how to navigate in the ER when the majority of physicians have no idea on how to treat to even worse dismiss you as a drug seeker or mentally impaired.

Only CVS book available for kindle right now.
Not all 100% accurate for adult sufferers but one of the few books out there that gives people any idea of what this terrible illness is and how to treat it.

A useful guide
Cyclic vomiting is often mis-diagnosed in adults so this book could really be of great use for anyone who is unsure about a diagnosis if you suffer from repeated vomiting. The condition is most common in young children, so this is a really handy text for worried parents. Knowledge is key when your little one is suffering, and all the knowledge you need about cyclic vomiting is in this book. There are a lot of causes of cyclic vomiting and they are all mentioned here. Finding the triggers for your, or your child's vomiting could go a long way towards getting it under control. The book goes to great lengths to describe the diagnosis process and the various treatments you may undergo. It is all written in a manner that is easy to understand. There's no jargon. The book is aimed at sufferers but would also be a useful reference guide for medical professionals too.Alternative therapies can be effective with cyclic vomiting, especially for those sufferers who vomit due to stress, and these therapies are covered in length in the book. There are also a lot of further reference details so you can continue your research or find further support. The book is also well illustrated, especially within the treatment section.

Very helpful and informative book
This book was very helpful in explaining the `relatively new' condition that has really only been defined since the early 1980s.It outlines what Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome is, as well as why you get it, the symptoms and signs (since it's relatively new, it often goes misdiagnosed, as many other conditions), the diagnosis and suggested treatments. This condition can prove to be very disabling, because one does not want to participate in any activities due to feeling nauseous. It's interesting to know that there are so many other people suffering from this, that the medical world is aware of it and is working on treatments. The book outlines what the testing procedures involve, in detail, which can be very helpful if you're unfamiliar with the kinds of testing that is done. There is also a list of very useful resources in the book. The photos in this book are interesting, as well.Very helpful, overall.
