If this stuff doesn’t work, NOTHING will.
My English Bulldog is a compulsive licker. It’s his go to soothing action for his anxiety, and if there’s no intervention, he will leave puddles of drool. Given that his paws are always within reach, we battle yeast infections from the excessive licking between his toes. Anti bacterial and anti fungal wipes can only do so much keeping these infections at bay. So I thought I’d try a bitter apple spray like a vet long ago suggested for my first bulldog with a similar issue. Order placed let’s see if it works.Bottle arrived inside a plastic bag / taped shut like Amazon does to prevent leaking, slight packing, inside a standard Amazon box. There was the tiniest bit of humidity inside the bag when I opened it, like temperature condensation - THAT IS ALL. Not even thinking about it, I pulled out the bottle, put it away, and threw out the packaging before going on with the rest of my to do list.Twenty minutes later, I sit down on the couch, open my book, read to the end of the page I was on, and that’s when it happened. I made the AWFUL mistake of licking my finger to turn the page…I pity AND commend whoever at Fooey works in R&D. No amount of spitting, wiping off my tongue or scraping it with my teeth, rinsing my mouth with water dulled the power of how awful this stuff tastes. I got it to LESSEN with Listerine, but I don’t know if that’s because it was a little more diluted or because Listerine is just as potent. All just from letting the moisture on the out side of the bottle dry on my fingers. This stuff is like the tear gas of licking deterrents - if this stuff doesn’t work and keep him from licking his paws, I wouldn’t even consider sending it back because those people at Fooey have redefined Due Diligence and deserve every penny I paid for it.I would NEVER use this stuff without gloves because I don’t ever want to experience that again. Hopefully your pets will feel the same way.And apparently I didn’t wash my hands well enough because I just got another zap… I wonder if Tecnu soap will wash it off. Yes, skunks and poison ivy would be comparable to the grossness of this stuff…

A waste of my money.
I purchased this product because I have a 12 week old kitten nursing on my dog. Caused her milk to come in. Sometimes the dog is not happy with it. I sprayed the product on my dog’s belly, making sure to saturate her teats. She actually licked the product off. I thought that was strange. So I sprayed some on my hand and I couldn’t smell anything. It did have a nasty taste to it, though however the kitten is nursing right through it. Doesn’t work for them.

Bitter isn’t the half of it!
I bought this because a friend recommended me this and she said that it worked on her pet so I thought I’d give it a try. Well it came in the mail today and when I’m out for lunch and I rush home thinking ‘yes finally I can stop my dog chewing on herself (cause it’s safe on fur) stop my bunny from chewing on my shoes and my cat from eating plastic.’ When I finally come home the first thing I did was open it, excited to finally win the constant chewing battles! And it works!!! This 16 oz of bitter grapefruit skin extract works. I sprayed on my shoes, my dogs bandages, chair legs, almost everywhere! Feeling of winning was great. After spraying this bitter spray almost everywhere in the living room I went to go eat, after I was my hands of course because I did notice a small droplets on my hands (little did I know that should have been a warning to me) after eating I went to lick my fingers.......... bitter is not how I would put it. It felt like my tongue was trying to reject my body. The taste was god awful, not only was the taste awful my tongue went numb, it went to the back of my throat and stayed like that for 20+ minutes. It wouldn’t have been that long if I didn’t do the dumbest thing and try to rinse my mouth out with water...... now the pungent flavor that was just at the tip of my tongue has now spread all inside of my mouth. I ate something out of desperation to get another flavor out of my mouth.... helped slightly. I went back to work to finish the rest of my shift, and washed my hands there (much more longer cause of what happened last time.) I am someone who usually has some candy in her bag for extra energy (I’m a preschool teacher). I’m starting to feel tired and pop some m&ms in my mouth........when my tongue even went near my lips the taste came back..... now with a hint of chocolate..... knowing nothing can really help this I just tried my best to keep a poker face so my coworker wouldn’t know what was wrong with me. Needless to say 10/10 stops pets from unwanted chewing...... and would recommend this product if you wanted to stop thumb sucking or nail biting. (J/K)

Yuuucck but not effective on rabbits
So I bought this in hopes of my rabbits to stop chewing. I sprayed it on the hutch, rug, kennel and my rabbit still knawed on the kennel bars. Now thus stuff is god awful. I decided see what all the hype was about and see how bitter it was. If you suffer from dry mouth, you won't with this. It causes you to salivate like a rabid dog. Just doesn't seem to have the same effect on my rabbit. Now it might work for my other rabbit. I'll still use it. The stuff lingers.....just be aware.Btw, don't let curiosity get to you. It tastes horrible.
