Working great in automotive application; but not standard 4" size for autos
I am using these to replace four 4" speakers in a Land Rover. These are pro audio speakers rather than automotive speakers. Unfortunately, the 4" bolt pattern is different (slightly smaller). Most 4" automotive speakers are 2-way coaxial (with tweeters), but the OE speakers are not. Instead, there's separate component tweeters in the A-pillars and the rear speakers just had whizzer cones. I tried some RF Punch, but the tweeters were overwhelming and according to RTA I could not EQ them down enough (or the mids high enough). I found the "Audio Frog" 4" mids, but the price (about 6X these Eminence) was higher than what I wanted to put into an old SUV. I was either going to cut the tweeter wires on the RF or order these. I'm glad I ordered these.Although my mids are still weak (to be expected with a 4" only system), I was able to EQ a fairly good response with these. Sensitivity is good for an automotive application, but rather low for Pro Audio where the frequency range these cover is more often covered by a horn-loaded compression driver. The magnets are huge compared to the OE speakers. The RF Punch were the same size as the OE. I had plenty of space in the rear pillars for the rear pair. I had to squeeze the front pair into the doors. They protrude about 1/8" extra compared to OE, but so did the RF. It works fine with a spacer.I don't know how much power the OE Land Rover amplifier in the passenger seat footwell area delivers, but these Eminence have a very substantial power handling capacity compared to most auto speakers. Most auto speakers this size are 30/60W, or 75W at the most, whereas these handle up to 110W. I doubt my amp goes anywhere near that high, but I will probably swap it out someday since it's nearly 20 years old and won't last forever.

Replaced One of Spark Speakers
My Spark amp was mostly satisfactory but I needed to keep the bass turned down almost to zero. Also, the blue tooth music was muddy and lacked any brightness. These were so affordable and 4 ohm, I decided to try an experiment, replacing one speaker and checking results. I felt that the guitar (acoustic, electric, passive & active, and bass) sounded as good as before. The big difference was in the blue tooth sound. Very full range and realistic compared to the original pair of speakers. It sounded so good, I simply left it with one of each speaker type. The Eminence has a full circle frame and doesn't fit into the odd-shaped rebated area on the Spark but I got by using slightly longer screws and the velcro from one side holds the screen in place. I'll likely add some blocks someday for a more elegant solution but it's working and I'm glad I tried the experiment.

Crystal Clear for Guitar
I used these to replace a single 10" 8ohm speaker, and I couldn't be happier. The sound is crystal clear, with plenty of depth.

Great value
I had some 3 way Infinity tower speakers where the midrange rotted out after 20 years. I replaced them with these and they sound GREAT!I re-foamed the woofers, but I'm not doing that to midranges...

Spark Amp speaker Replacement
Great sound. Used them in my Positive grid Spark amp. Improved the sound.
