Fast Shipping. So far, So good
The package shipped the next day and arrived very soon after. The package appeared in an adorable little box. very nice if you want the complete season 3 put in one case with four disks. This is definitely a good price considering some of the DVDs you can buy are ridiculously expensive for, like, four episodes. But I will admit, I haven't watched any of season 3 yet, I'm still on season 2 of rewatching Sonic X, but, like I said, definitely better than having 15 DVDs and watching stuff out of order.

The smashing grand finale of Sonic X!
To start let's begin with the contents included. Just like collection 01, this is box set that contains episodes 53-78 of Sonic X. I might also add that they are English dubbed from 4Kids in 2005-2006. We are special, because these episodes of the anime didn't even air in Japan! Unlike the previous collection, it's a FOUR disc set instead of being eight disc since it only contains 26 episodes. There are NO bonus features only the episodes! I highly recommend this product over the discontinued FUNimation releases which are extremely hard to find and are overwhelmingly expensive. We've been given a second chance to own Sonic X season 3 on DVD, so grab it before it winds up going fast! I have enclosed photos of the items packaging.

A collectible must-have
Sonic X is my favorite anime of all time. On the back of the dvd’s cover, there’s a mini poster which includes the leading characters of the series. I’ll just keep it till I have my own children and watch with them. I hope there’ll still be a DVD player in the future. XD

Please get this
I've always enjoined this season, and yes it is still the 4Kids version, but still, if for any other reason, if these DVDs sell well, they might finally sell us the Japanese version, so please get itt

This region free Boxset gets the job done.
This second and final collection of the Sonic X series contains Episodes 53 to 78 of the 3rd Season. Like the previous Seasons 1 & 2 Collection, the packaging is nicely presented and is consistent with the previous release. The menus are basic as the last one and contain no extras, which again, may be enough for some buyers. Discotek has done a nice job with both sets here. The 3rd Season of Sonic X is a special case. The show was originally supposed to end with the 2nd Season and no plans were made in Japan to produce another due to the low viewership over there. The show was a much bigger hit in the West with some of the stronger viewership ratings on its TV blocks. Because of this, 4Kids Entertainment who produced the English version of Sonic X commissioned for a 3rd Season to the creators in Japan. Season 3 would not air on Japanese television and instead was streamed much later, whilst the rest of the world were treated to Season 3 on TV.Season 3 shakes up the formula from the first 2 Seasons quite a bit. After a battle with a new enemy in Space that even Sonic can't handle in his Super form, he uses his Chaos Control ability to scatter the 7 Chaos Emeralds away into the outer reaches of space. A mysterious plant girl named Cosmo then crash lands her ship on Sonic's planet to warn him of a great danger to the galaxy known as the Metarex, an evil group of robots and cyborgs. When one of the metal monsters steals away the Planet Egg from Sonic's world, the source of the planet's life, it is in danger of dying if it is not returned in time. Using a new starship built by Tails, Sonic and friends with returning Chris Thorndyke take off into space to retrieve the Chaos Emeralds and stop the Metarex from wiping out the galaxy. After having the previous Seasons take place on Planet Earth, Season 3 is a nice change of pace. The setting may not be what you would expect for a Sonic show, but the stories manage to be engaging and fun throughout. There's a variety of new locations with Sonic and friends visiting several planets on their quest and plenty of space battles. The action is as fun as before as well as the comedy which is especially enjoyable here with characters such as the Chaotix Crew who get more screentime than the 1 only episode they got in Season 2. There's plenty of character moments this season, especially with Tails and new character Cosmo who joins the team early on.One of the biggest improvements over Seasons 1 and 2 is surprisingly Chris, who returns after 6 years have passed on Earth. Due to time working differently in Sonic's world, Chris's body reverts back to his 12-year-old self from before upon arrival. He still remains an 18 year old despite this which thankfully reflects in his character. He's a lot smarter, braver and ends up being a lot more useful to Sonic and the others this time. He's a character you either like or hate if you watched the first two Seasons, but in Season 3 he's a lot more tolerable. He's one of the only human characters in this Season as well compared to previously, which for some people will be considered an improvement. A few of Chris's friends and family still get the small scene here and there now and again showing what they are up to on Earth. When it comes to any negatives and nitpicks with Season 3, there's some for sure. One is that a really interesting element is introduced in the 67th episode, Testing Time which for fans of the show got a lot of them talking. However, that interesting moment near the end is never brought up again which ultimately makes you wonder if it was worth introducing at all. There's also the occasional episode where the animation is quite rough. It hits hard in episodes like the 64th one, A Metarex Melee, which is quite a big episode. It results in one of the most disappointing fights in the series due to the animation alone and how little time is spent on the fight itself. Then there's the occasional rough editing for toning elements from the Japanese version. The tone of Season 3 is much darker than the previous ones. The English adaptation by 4Kids Entertainment really censors down quite a bunch here because of this, and unfortunately, it really impacts some of the story towards the end. Character motivations change quite a bit from the original and especially towards the end, one of the saddest moments in the entire show is toned down so much that it loses a lot of the impact in the process. It's dark for a Sonic cartoon if you know what occurs in the end and to that extent, it's understandable why it was toned down as much as it was. This again will only be a problem for the more hardcore fans. But even casual viewers may be able to tell what's cut out upon viewing.Ultimately, Season 3 is quite enjoyable despite the censorship near the end and sometimes rough animation in certain episodes. The setting is refreshing, the action is enjoyable and the comedy can be quite funny. If you have kids that are new to Sonic and they enjoyed the previous boxset, this is worth buying for them to complete their collection. The boxset is well presented and the DVD quality is quite nice. Both boxsets being region free is great for importers too, considering there is still no up to date UK release of Sonic X.It gets my recommendation.
