Awakening Through a Course in Miracles Paperback – March 1, 2009

I always wonder about people who walk away from a "regular" lifestyle, to live in a commune or to go travel the world offering "gatherings." I have to admit I did get sucked into one such gathering with David in Queensland, Australia about three years ago. Not surprisingly I found it, and David terminally boring and self-centred, particularly when he proceeded to pull our a CD and sing... but that's another story for another day. But again, to be fair, once you know what is there to say?Having said that, this book was obviously written and collated before these nebulous gatherings started to form, so they reveal a little of this writer's insights into the seminal work, A COURSE IN MIRACLES.I have stated, many times, that ACIM is an amazing revelation of wisdom, but it is not easy to grasp by the western mind that has been trained, since childhood, to be a "consumer" and a "do-er" rather than a "be-er" (and I don't mean Coors!) This is one of the reasons I read authors such as Gary Renard and young David Hoffmeister here. This book does contain some interesting insights, but sadly manages to make most of these insights very "David-related" but then again, how else can he do it.All I would say is skip this book and instead just plough your way through ACIM... It is not easy, so be kind to yourself, but it will change your life... David's book, however, will not.

David points to this inner knowing and offers you a different way of perceiving your world.This book is based on the concepts, principles and teachings laid forth in A Course In Miracles(ACIM). If you are unfamiliar with ACIM this book will probably be more difficult to understand, however I wouldn't let that stop you from reading it. I believe this book and it's author are Divinely inspired and this book offers a Gift of Wisdom to anyone who is ready to be open and willing to suspend judgement and allow Spirit to guide.

This beautiful book is a must read for everyone who has the little willingness, a calling/prompting to go deeper in mind with the teachings of A Course In Miracles. David Hoffmeister is uncompromising in living the teachings of Jesus in A Course In Miracles and he so gracefully extends his awakening with us.Awakening Through A Course In Miracles, as well as David's other books, audios and videos are by far the most comprehensive and uncompromising works on A Course In Miracles.

I loved this book so much that I read it twice. David's teachings are so inspiring, comforting, and straight forward. He makes you realize that enlightenment is right there when you decide you want it, that it isn't actually a process, but a decision. This book is primarily for A Course in Miracles students who understand the principles of the Course. Yet anybody can benefit from its spiritual message. I loved the student dialogue approach between David and his students. Great book!

This book is fairly advanced. If you know what the Course is about then this book may be very helpful. If you're just starting with the Course then I would suggest Gary Renard's book The Disappearance of the Universe. Awakening Through a Course in Miracles is done in question & answer style or comment & response so you can turn to any page and find useful information. If you love the Course you will love this book.

I would highly recommend this book for anyone interested in furthering their understanding of core Course concepts. It is well written, and presented in everyday language that will be welcome by any Course student who has struggled with the "density" of original Course material. I will definitely check out other books by this author, and will return to Awakening Through a Course in Miracles again and again for ongoing clarification.

David shares from depth of experience in and knowledge of ACIM. He is practical about mysticism and the things that a mystic must remember. This has been very helpful!Thanks David! Another one of those rare books that I'm going to purchase again because I have highlighted and underscored my first copy so much. An incredibly helpful, clear and cut to the chase book written from the Heart to the Heart.

David Hoffmeister is a brilliant teacher/student of ACIM. This book is awesome and so so clear in its clarity and interpretation of the Course and What It Says. I am a long term student of ACIM and have read countless books based upon the teachings of the course, but this book by David is to be recommended to new students in particuclar. I know a new student who couldn't get past the common question. How did the impossible happen. David explained it so clearly to her that she too bought the book. She is on her way now and having fun, as we all do with the Course.

I really love this book. As a student of A Course in Miracles for six years, I have found it along with Tara Singh's "Nothing Real can be Threatened" as the wisest most loving and helpful commentary on the Course that I have encountered.

I was very annoyed to find that the kindle version sent to me was in Chinese.

The clarity, the experience-based conviction, and the insight verily shine through. The entire volume is a buffet of vintage Hoffmeister and his LIVING the Course. Practical and helpful on so many (seeming) levels for so many (seeming) people. One to refer to again and again; a keeper.
