These pants fit really well. Comfortable and convertable.

These pants are meant for hiking, right? In 6 months, several seems were completely destroyed, and a hole in a pocket, one of the belt loops, was torn because, again, the seem did not hold. I guess, for $50, you get exactly the junk you are paying for. It is funny how Columbia convinced me never to buy their shoes first and now pants.

Columbia sportsware is a reliable and sturdy brand

Great pants for travel. They are lightweight and comfortable and look nice enough to get by at "dress casual" with a button shirt. The zip-off legs allow them to convert into long shorts which is handy when hiking and the sun comes out after the dew has burned off. The various pockets are nice and deep enough to be functional. The two thigh pockets are deep enough to hold my Pixel 6 Pro phone. One pocket has a zipper closure and the others close by velcro. Nice to know that your phone will not fall out as the zipper keeps it closed.Notes:1) Some comments advised ordering one size larger than you normally wear. I did this and would also recommend this otherwise they will be too tight across your backside.2) I did have to return the first set of pants I ordered as the stitching on the pocket unraveled. This should not have happened as I had only worn the pants for one day and I expected better from Columbia. I exchanged them for another identical pair and these have been fine so far. If the stitching comes loose again in the future I'll post an update.
