TotalBoatSpartan Boat Bottom Paint | Multi-Season Marine Antifouling (Black, Gallon)

This is the first time I have used Total Boat's SPARTAN. I am impressed with the coverage and looks good too. The boat is in the water on the South Texas Coast, and back in the water for several months now and still see almost no growth below the waterline. While at the shipyard, the boat next to mine was also using Spartan except in Blue. the Blue also looked impressive.

After reading previous comments regarding this product, I figured the can would arrive dented. I was not disappointed. This is not Amazon's fault but the manufacturer for poor packaging. That is why I made it 4 stars out of 5. Surprisingly, the paint was very easy to stir by hand and went on great. Dried to the touch in a few hours while painting at 60 degrees. Have not launched the boat for the season yet so I cannot rate the durability but will try and update this when I pull the boat out in November.

The paint seems good so far and looking forward seeing how it holds up compared to CSC micron. The only issue was the can was put loose in a box for shipping so of course it arrived all dented up. It's a miracle it didn't leak.

Update:06DEC2021 After scrubbing and cleaning the algae from the bottom of my boat, the attached barnacles popped off rather easily from the painted surface as compared to my outdrive. Therefore, there was some benefit to using the Totalboat Spartan antifouling paint after all. Updating the number of stars and title of the review.I must have received the same bad lot of TotalBoat Spartan that Kimberlee Sweitzer did. What a waste of my time and money scraping, sanding, prepping the surface, and applying the recommended two coats. As you can see in the photos, after only 6 months in the marina, the "protected" bottom has only a slightly thinner layer of algae and barnacles than my unpainted outdrive. Did TotalBoat forget to put in the advertised level of copper? Is this the kind of result that I can expect from TotalBoat products? If so, I will buy from a competitor somewhere else. Total disappointment, DO NOT BUY!
