Purchased this for my daughter to give in a Secret Santa gift exchange. The recipient ended up being my niece. She loves this mug. The reaction to hot liquids is just as described. Watching the change take place puts a smile on our faces every time. Children, teens and adults find it cool to watch and use. It was not the most inexpensive mug of this type I’ve found. The design reminded me of emojis though and My daughter and I thought it would be a hit with whoever picked it at the party and it was!

Works like a charm and my wife really enjoys using it! We hand wash the mug just to make sure we don't mess with the magic! Hot tea changes it very quickly and the happy faces hang around until you drink it down. Very clever design and works exactly as advertised and expected! Cool item for hot drinks!

These mugs are super cute! It's exactly as describe in the photos. You just add hot water and viola!....Happy face comes out! I have gifted them before and my friend loved it, so I purchased more for Christmas present. And the price is good too.

The concept of a changing picture on the mug is very interesting and innovative. I filled up my cup with heated water from a Sparkletts dispenser. As mentioned be other reviewers, the bright yellow faces were only a muted yellow. I don't know if this is because of the temperature of the water. Anyway, the picture on the box seems to be upside down. As I drank the hot liquid, the top turned back to black first - from the top down.

Thirteen year old boys are hard to buy for…our grandson is no exception…but…he loves this Happy Face Mug that I left in our guest room for him to have for his hot chocolate! I even got a text telling me how cool it is after they got back home! Score one for Nana!!

I got this for my daughter, she loves it. It does not take boiling water to activate, just put under the coffee maker and BAM! smiley faces. Cheer some up or just a thoughtful thing to do...and only around $8 bucks. You can't go wrong.

I love this mag. Packaging was very good. I tried it right away. When it is called the only thing you can see is the little weird eyes :) I put hot water in the mug and started to bright up and as the water was getting colder it gradually went back to black. It's a fun mug. Fun to use,fun to watch. I will get another one when it gets back to the Deal of the Day.

The contents need to be pretty hot and as soon as the beverage lowers the empty space turns black again. After 10 minutes when you coffee cools down the cup is more blue than yellow. I would have enjoyed a plain yellow smiley face cup more because the cool color changing effect doesn't last very long. The cup is actually pretty small. I'm very suspicious about it actually holding 12 oz. It might but you'd have to fill it to the rim so realistically it holds 10 oz. If you want a small cup of coffee or hot chocolate this will work for you. Don't buy it for the color changing effect because it's not that impressive.

This item was a perfect little gift I bought it for my boyfriend and it works great and he gets a kick out of it and he knows as soon as that black line start showing at the top again that is cooled down enough for him to drink with burning his tongue he loves it so I love it

Wanted something at work a bit cheery. Some mugs I looked at often have only one picture which is pointed away from me being right handed. Not only has this got smileys all round. It also lets me know when my tea is starting to cool which is well handy at work with all the distractions. Perfect.

Reacts fast to heat and stays a long time. Great product
