Great explanations of how sensation works!
As a biology teacher, I really enjoyed this book! It does an excellent job of explaining exactly how we sense sounds, sights, tastes, smells, and touch in easy to understand language. I look forward to using some of the diagrams and explanations as I teach my students about how their bodies work. Highly recommended for anyone interested in the details of how these special cells work and transmit their messages to be interpreted by the brain. The only difficulty I experienced was in actually receiving the book. It is self-published, so there isn't a great inventory of books on hand. It may therefore take a little longer to receive a copy than is usually expected. I had to cancel and then re-order twice before actually receiving my copy. It was well worth the wait, but those interested need to be aware of the possibility of delay.

Magically entertaining science
I enjoyed reading Albig's It's Not Magic, It's Biology from the first page to the last. Albig presents the molecular mechanisms of how our body interacts with the environment in a highly engaging and accessible way. Again and again I checked out YouTube videos that he refers to for further illustration. Albig manages to teach and entertain at the same time. I learned a lot about how we touch, see, hear, smell through the interaction of enzymes and ligands and how diseases and drugs work - that's biology. And yet each evening I looked forward to picking up the book and relax while reading it. That's quite magical, isn't it!

An enjoyable read about molecular and cell biology
I really enjoyed reading this book. The section on neurotoxins was really interesting. I appreciate the author’s ability to enthusiastically explain biology in a way that doesn’t make me feel like I am reading a boring textbook. The artwork and diagrams are excellent.

Phenomenal
I loved this book! As a teacher always looking to add more relevance to what we’re teaching, this book provided me with a plethora of ideas for incorporating more phenomena for our students to engage with. I can’t wait to implement some of the ideas I gathered for next school year by reading this book. I’m looking forward to the next volume!

Yes, this is a magic book.
An intricate subject presented simply with a conversational tone. I wish my college text books were presented thus. A wonderful transfer of knowledge combining narrative and illustration
