Rosewill 4-Port USB 2.0 Hub with Power Adapter (RHUB-210)

I'll admit, I've had a few poorly made hubs in the past, so I wasn't really expecting much. What sold me on this purchase is the good pricing, external power supply, and the Rosewill name. This hub definitely exceeded all expectations! It charges iPhones fast, great transfer rate, even with multiple devices attached and being used at the same time. The construction of the USB ports is superb, they are flush with the bezel of the hub, don't catch or snag on anything, and are heavy duty enough to stand up to some accidental wire pulling. It's overall a great product and anyone looking for a powered USB hub, this is a purchase you will not regret. Looks good on the desk and works well enough for light use or heavy data transfer!

The hub is about the size of a deck of cards. All four ports are on one of the long sides, which makes the spacing a little tight. Some of my larger thumbdrives would not fit in adjacent ports. For those, an extension cable would be needed. The power supply is 2A, providing a full 500ma to each port. The hub was plug and play on my Linux system, and I'll probably use this for a future Raspberry Pi project. Just a quick update... The hub powers down when the host port goes down. As a result, you can't use the hub to power the host (for example a Raspberry Pi) via a second USB connection to one of the powered ports. The host will need its own power supply.

I needed a power solution for my Raspberry Pi microcomputer. This works great, it's a powered hub so you can power your pi, hook up a mouse and keyboard, and connect an external hard drive without any power troubles. It's nice and small so if you have to install this in a nook somewhere, it'll fit. PROS: Ports seem high quality, no wiggle Powered, perfect for Raspberry Pi microcomputer Affordable Looks really cool CONS: Nothing

As a heads up to others, no AC adapter is included. Will be returned, but does look like its' built well for something in this price category.

This USB hub is compact and seems to deliver plenty of power to my full-size keyboard and mouse. The AC adapter that comes with it is one of the low-profile ones that doesn't hog multiple outlets in your power strip, and it puts out a whopping 2 amps! A bonus feature is that it can deliver the half amp or so needed by my new raspberry Pi board computer without even having to negotiate over the USB signal lines (which the rPi doesn't use for its power jack). I'm a very satisfied customer.
