SO Glad We Tried These
I'm a complete novice when it comes to Thai cooking. I've always been afraid that Thai might irritate an intestinal problem I have, because I have to be so careful with what kinds of spices I eat. But the Hubs and I were feeling adventurous and we had to fill up the last corner of our Prime Pantry box, so we decided to try these. Before purchasing I looked up the product on various websites and found that it had a Chicken Pad Thai recipe on the back of the package - which was great because I didn't know a thing about cooking Pad Thai and really wanted to try it. I purchased A Taste of Thai Pad Thai Sauce, 3.25 oz Box, 6 Piece from the Pantry, and before the box arrived I made sure to have green onions, bean sprouts, peanuts and some boneless, skinless chicken thighs ready to go.The box tells you to boil water, put the noodles in the water and remove the pan from the burner for 8 minutes, then drain and rinse the noodles under cold water before adding to your recipe. I followed these instructions to the letter and had a perfect result. The noodles were not over-cooked at all. Out of curiosity, I compared these instructions to another manufacturer's noodles at my local store which said to boil for 4 minutes, let stand for 4 minutes, then drain and rinse under cold water. I didn't have a good result with the second method at all, so I'll just stick to Thai Kitchen's instructions on the package. Please don't interpret anything I've written to mean that I think of myself as an expert - I'm a total newbie to Thai cooking and I'm frankly surprised at myself for having even tried this But I just love the flavor and texture we got from these noodles with the sauce mentioned above. If you've never tried Thai Pad at home before, this might be a good way to dip your toe in the water, so to speak.

Good product, bad packaging
This is a good product at a good price. My family loves pad thai, so this is a necessity. My only complaint with my order is that it was shipped in an envelope instead of a box, which meant that the boxes of noodles were both crushed in shipping and all the noodles were broken.

Love these rice noodles! Gluten free!
Extremely easy to cook. Instructions say to boil water, remove from heat, put in the noodles and let set for up to 10 minutes. I found that this leaves the noodles under cooked and a bit dry and tough. Alternatively, I put the noodles in boiling water, leave the heat on, return to a boil, and then boil for 10 minutes stirring occasionally. Noodles are soft but don’t fall apart or disintegrate. Sometimes I boil for up to 15 minutes while stirring. Then take a jar or two of the pad Thai sauce or the peanut sauce (or one jar of each) from the same brand. Stir in with the cooked/drained noodles, and you’re quickly done making a delicious dish. I add cooked shrimp. All you need is a pot, a colander for draining the cooked noodles, and a spoon to get the sauce out of the jar and stir it all together. Fast, easy, delicious. Try it.

Good Product, Poor Handling
We love to make homemade pad thai. These noodles are absolutely perfect for it too! The problem with them arises in that the box may have various lengths of noodles within. When we last made some it seemed about half the box was the length of half of the box. This made for a very awkward meal of noodles slipping and sliding everywhere.I would recommend this in the short run as you try and find a better version.
