Love her or hate her
A quick Google search will show you that people either love Silver Ravenwolf or hate her. I personally love her and suggest the review of her work called one hundred witches on tumblr. It's closest to the truth.I've read this book several times and am reading it again. I've also loaned it to others and never got it back so they apparently liked it as well. Her writing style is very down to earth, uncomplicated, and easy to understand. To Ride a Silver Broomstick was the second pagan book I read following Scott Cunningham. That was almost twenty years ago and I have now become a dedicant in The Black Forest Tradition. For those starting out on a solitary pagan path this is a great primer with lots of exercises and history. Yes, I said it, history. People may not agree with her history but I believe those people are splitting hairs. I also do not agree that she is condescending and dislikes other religions in particular Christianity. If you've read any of her other work you would know that this is not true. Especially any of her Pow wow books. What Silver dislikes about Christianity is that many Christian denominations bash Paganism and are very much "our way is the only one true way." That doesn't mean she dislikes Christians.Ignore the negative reviews, this book is a good read as are the two others in this series. Read it, take what you want from it and leave the rest, after all, that is what Silver would tell you to do.

A comprehensive guide to Wicca
This is the second copy of the book I have bought. The first one had a different cover, which I didn't like very much. The cover on this edition is excellent, giving a much better representation of the contents. Silver Ravenwolf is an American authoress and I am English, so I am hard to please, preferring the writings of Rae Beth and Kate West in the main. However, if I did pick an American, it would be Silver. Her book is very comprehensive, covering all aspects of Wicca, Pow Wow in an interesting way, going into detail, but not too much. This book is a great start for a new Wiccan or witch. It is a wonderful study aid and I have used it many times, coming back to it time and time again to check on something or learn something new.Silver is cautious in her approach and there are plenty of warnings to a new dedicant. She takes her subject seriously and this comes across in many different ways.I can certainly recommend this book and personally, I would not be without it.Star

Buying the digital copy made me buy a hard copy
I purchased this title in Audible awhile back. At first, I was skeptical but I have listened to it several times and found it worthwhile to own a physical book for reference. As with ALL things, you have to pick and choose from the reference to utilize what is useful now, but who really knows what will be necessary to utilize in the future?Long story attempted to shorten: You should ALWAYS buy a hard copy because the written word can be used when digital fails. Reference manuals are still relevant. Blessings to you all.
