Hawx - Xbox 360

First off, HAWX is a Tom Clancy game, which should tell you that the game will be fairly realistic and well done. I can't say that I've played a Clancy game that I thought to be bad yet. And this game is just that - fairly realistic and pretty well done. Planes are realistic as is the overall aerial setting. Voice acting is good and the missions are varied and fun. No, there is no taking off and landing, which may turn off some die hard flight sim fans, but to me that missing aspect of the game is meaningless. I've played Ace Combat and, without a doubt, I believe HAWX to be the better game. AC is also realistic in terms of the planes and flight control, however, the stories are atrocious as is the voice acting. Also, AC uses fictional countries, such as "Gracemaria" as your home country. WTF is that? HAWX is more aligned with the U.S. Airforce, and the story line is better done and more believable. It's not a perfect game by any means, but flight-shooter fans should enjoy it.Overall rating: 8/10

I am not an avid/expert gamer. I play occasionally and would consider myself an averagely skilled player.I got this last week and I've been able to complete only the first mission so far.The problem I have is in controlling the plane when trying to change direction.In other flight games that I've played, the aircraft is much easier to control when trying to more left or right,In this game though, the plane seems to flip on its belly every time I try to execute a turn. this makes it especially difficultto bomb ground targets.I've tried to look up to see if this can be simplified but I've not seen any help on this so far.I give this only 3 stars simple because its just too difficult and frustrating for an average gamer like me.

H*A*W*X is H*A*W*Xsome...As flight simulation programs go this is so one of the bests. The graphics while not perfect (100% life like) are really good.This game is both fun and addictive. I just wanted to complete the current mission so I could get to the next mission. Very entertaining. Now obvious this isn't a realistic flight simulator when it comes to actual game play as I never heard of a real life jet fighter carrying over 100 missles and endless supply of bullets but aside from these "reaslistic flaws" H*A*W*X is H*A*W*Xsome. A game I am glad to now have as part of my XBox 360 library of games. Easily well worth the money. Does anybody know of a good H*A*W*X Addiction hotline? Just kiding but it is in rerality very good and I would highly recommend it.God Bless...Randall M. Rueff

This game is an absolute blast and it has the graphics to boot!Once you get used to playing in the "OFF" mode, I don't think you will ever go back to blah chase plane view again. In the OFF mode you take the view of say, chase camera, that is positioning itself around you for the best view. Sometimes it works great, sometimes not so great. But the minor flaws in that view, are far outweighed by the advantages it gives. Choose MultiAA for your weapon, hit A, and watch your jaw drop as you see them drop from your wing and leave a smoke trail on their way to the target. This view is like no other and can not be achieved through cockpick, 1st person, or chase plane view (right behind and static view). Need to dodge that SAM on your tail? Watch is amazement as you see the missile approaching your plane, the smoke trail coming at you and at the last minute, you brake and turn hard right...woooosh...the missile goes flying by.If you actually thought this was going to be close to a combat flight sim, shame on you for giving it bad reviews. Nowhere on the box can you even glean a hint of physics or simulation for this game. This game easily deserves a solid 4 star rating from those who purchased it that were smart enough to realize it is a combat shooter and not the freaking Air Force training flight simulator.

Exactly as advertised and still had original packaging. I would recommend highly if your looking for a nostalgic but very well done jet fighter game.

Very hard to play. Controls very sensitive. Unnatural. Can’t be adjusted.

Took a while to get it but Jesus Six bucks for this? Almost can call it Ace Combat: Tom Clancy, controls are the same as that legendary game, A6 Intruder (navy) is on here, flight stick I'm gonna get just because this game is still 59.99 quality, coop flight sim yes please thank you

Now that the game is a lot less expensive than it was at launch, it's an easy choice for fans of flight arcade/simulator games. It's a little dated, and gameplay can be repetitive, but the slew of different vehicles to use and different ways to play will keep you coming back for more. Also, with the sequel coming out soon, might be a good idea to get used to the gameplay.
