Teaching Mathematics in Early Childhood

I teach transitional kindergarten. The book is fantastic. I love Sally Moomaw's interactive, game-based approach to teaching mathematics. My student's love the activities, and they're learning has just taken off this year. I would strongly recommend this book to parents and teachers of young children.

Great for teachers of young children.

As a stay-at-home mom I've been concerned lately about getting my son ready for kindergarten. Since he isn't in preschool, it is all on me! I liked this book because it is a quick and easy read. It made me realize how much I've already been teaching him without trying. Additionally, it gave some good games I can play with my son to teach and reinforce math concepts.

This book was very helpful to me as a 4's preschool teacher. It explained all of the concepts that are taught at the preschool level and gave concrete examples of activities to teach and reinforce those concepts. Since we do not use a commercial curriculum at our school, the short and long term planning guides at the end of the book were extremely helpful. I have other Sally Moomaw books, and I have been impressed with all of them.
