Rubie's unisex-adult Captain America: Civil War Deluxe Muscle Chest Costume

Great value and looks great (bought it for $41). I wore it to several Halloween-time events, and got some nice compliments. It's well detailed, and decently well made for the price. It's the typical polyester "costume" material. Thin, but durable enough for wearing for a few parties, and trick-or-treating with the kids. Also has some nice thick foam detailing for the shoulder straps,belt and boot covers. Those that have complained about the quality, what do they expect for 40 bucks? It's not perfect, but I was very satisfied with the purchase.Some more detailed commentary: I am 5'9" and slim (140 lb) so I got the Standard size. The costume fit me well lengthwise, and would probably also fit guys a little (inch or so) taller. The girth was a bit too much for my slim build, resulting in a lot of extra material in the sides of the torso. But this was remedied with a couple safety pins to take in the sides. Not perfect, but worked just fine for several Halloween-time appearances. Again, I'm pretty thin, so it would certainly fit really well on a lot of guys with average or slightly bulkier frames. The belt was also too big for me, so I fixed it by adding some stick-on Velcro from the craft store. I have a 31-inch waist. So anything much bigger than that, and it would probably fit well out of the box. The chest is a bit preposterous, in how "muscled" it is. Just way too much padding (as many have mentioned). I'm pretty flat chested, and it still stuck out to a silly degree. So guys with any bit of muscle to their real chest, and this will just stick too much. So you may want to take out some (or even all) of the chest padding. The padding on the chest, plus padding on knee and elbow pads made this a pretty warm costume to wear. I wore a T-shirt and shorts under it for indoor parties, and it was still a bit warm (but bearable). But actually pretty nice, while trick or treating outside on a cool New England night.The boot covers look nice. But be aware, that the parts that cover your shoes/feet are pretty small. I have pretty small feet (size 8.5) and the costume boot covers only barely covered the laces on my boots. So you'll want a pair or brown leather shoes or boots to complete the look. With that, the boot covers look great, almost like Cap's real boots! The mask (as others have mentioned) is just a half mask (no back) but full masks sold separately were either really expensive, or got middling reviews (many commented they were too big). So I decided to just stick with the mask that was included with the costume. It does have some sharp narrow edges near the cheeks. I have a pretty slim face (again, I'm a skinny guy) and it still dug into my face a bit. So I don't know what face shape this was designed for. But it was good enough for limited use. I don't really like wearing masks anyway (it also limits visions some) so I spent most of the time with the mask just flipped up on top of my hear, or took it off altogether. Add a shield, and some leather fingerless gloves for a complete "Cap" look.

Costume was great material, very durable, I lost weight so it was big on me. Had to remove a majority of the stuffing from the chest as it was bulged out too far, and also trimmed the belt. Mask that comes with outfit isn’t the greatest so I purchased another one. Definitely worth it tho

Halloween's my favorite time of year. I did some customizing with my sewing machine on this costume to take it in to make it look more fitting through the arms, legs and torso. Costume length was great! Painted my own gloves and put workout bands inside the handle of the shield (purchased shield & helmet separately) so I could wear it as a backpack. Tucked the costume into my cowboy boots. Our first warm Halloween ever. I was the hit of the neighborhood. Im 6'4" and 180lbs. If you're 6'-6'5" and closer to 225-240lbs this would be a great fit.

The positives: For the price, costume looks and fits pretty good. True to image. Negatives: I removed the added stuffing in the chest as it isn't needed and looked silly all puffed out. I added some fabric Velcro (from Home Depot) to the back where it fastens as it has 3 small Velcro squares that aren't enough to keep it closed (your back is exposed). I also added Velcro to the belt as it's made for someone with a larger waist. The boot covers are made for someone with tiny child size feet, so I may add a bit of Velcro to hold to the front of my shoes. As for the mask...give it to a small child and order a better full mask (what I did). I will still enjoy costume as we'll be on a cruise for Halloween

I purchased the standard size and it fit well other than being a bit short. Im 6'3" 205lb.I did take some stuffing out of the upper chest and the front belly area, but had to cut a slit inside to do so.

I'm about 5'7" 190 lbs with a short stocky/athletic build and this costume fits very well. I thought most costumes would be meant for more tall and skinny guys, but this was definitely not the case. The muscle chest was ridiculous and just balled up in the middle, so once removed all that stuffing it looked really good! The mask and belt are pretty cheap, but the rest of the costume is well designed. I just need to ad velcro to the belt to make tighter and the back to pull together tighter, other than that I would highly recommend this costume, especially for the price!

Well made for the money. Has Velcro closure in the back. Not thin or flimsy. Thicker material. I'm 6 ft and 180 lbs. If anything just a tad large, but with heavier clothes on under it, should be fine. Bought it to pass out candy at Halloween for the neighborhood kids.

Girlfriend wanted to go to a Halloween party this year. Wants to go as that lame couple from the PrincessBride. I said Andre the Giant?Heck yea! She said NO -..Wesley!Been hounding me to get the costume.Told her I would.Got this instead...Boom.(Purchased a separate mask..one that comes w/ costume blows)
