Incredible!
After so many romance audiobooks that I have read and enjoyed, this is the first series that I have absolutely loved and wrote a review on. Both the story and narration was so well done and really surprised me when I busted out laughing at the sassiness of both the males and females in the series. I read them way too fast and will now be looking forward to more from J.T. Geissinger and also hope that future reads include the same narrations done by Troy Duran, who has the sexiest male voice I have ever heard as well as the female narration also done very well by Tara Langella and others. I have read two in this series and really looking forward to the last two, also.

Really good!
I liked the most of this book. Towards the end it got a bit much with the dominance deal. Also, I never read the first book in this series. Oddly, it seems Amazon thinks I did and recommended I continue this series. Eh? Okay! So I read this one and I can say what I read about Kage means I never will. You have no honor, fictional sir! When your thirst for vengeance comes at the cost of great pain to someone that means a great deal to someone you profess to love...yeah, you're a cad. At any rate, this book was pretty darn good.

This was great
I thoroughly loved this book...the bantering back and forth had me laughing so hard and I loved Sloan in the first book and her relationship with Natalie, her best friend. She shines in this book and of course finds the man that is the love of her life! However, I'm not thrilled about the cliffhanger to be honest. It takes away from the Happy Ending... That's not going to stop me from reading the next book in this series...I love J.T. and her writing is amazing! The sex scenes are so hot !!! The plots are never dragging on, which I find happens in many other novelist books. All her books I have read are amazing and I'm always borrowing one for my library. These are true Anti heroes and although they have a deep love for their women they are very bad men that I have fallen in love with. Their pasts are horrific and there's a lesson in these books for us all. The women that love these men are strong and no punches pulled women! They are the ones that have all the power over these powerful men. Please read her books and this series because you'll enjoy every freaking word and thirst for more! :)

Steamy and intense
What a WILD ride! Geissinger's books are always addictive, and her mafia romances have been particularly compelling - with this being no exception. These two were FIRE together, and I was absolutely hooked from start to finish. I'll openly admit that I had a little more trouble than usual getting behind this particular couple, not because they don't have exquisite banter and sizzling chemistry (they definitely DO!), but because the brand of steam in this one just isn't my flavor (we'll talk about that in a minute). But that is really my only complaint. The rest of this was so completely engrossing, I was perfectly fine with skimming through a couple of scenes that weren't my cup of tea. I binged this in one sitting, and stayed up way too late reading. And the audio? Well worth the wait.Yes, this will technically read as a standalone. Do I recommend that? No, because the other books are fantastic. They're also somewhat interconnected, and I can't say how well this would read out of order. This story follows Declan and Sloane, two people brought together by... unusual circumstances. Declan has taken Sloane captive on the order of his mafia boss, and now they're stuck together - and neither one is excited about it. Declan is a broody and moody, coldblooded killer, and Sloane is a fierce and feisty, resilient woman. She probably should be afraid of the man (okay, she definitely should be), but Sloane refuses to cower. Her bubbly energy and upbeat attitude throw Declan off-kilter, and it's not long before she's getting under his skin. But Declan is a man who is always in control, and he'll have it one way or another. So, let's get the part that I didn't like out of the way - the steam. Geissinger's books are ALWAYS smoking hot and the scenes aren't typically vanilla, but this story has a more pronounced submission aspect. There's a lot of "sir" and "master" talk, with one mildly disturbing steamy scene involving a tampon that I could not for the life of me find sexy. But, hey, different strokes for different folks, right? There were probably only about 25 pages in the whole book that weren't for me, and the rest was outstanding. It's definitely got an instalove feel, but it worked here since the chemistry is very, very obvious. I LOVED all of the banter, and there is such a playful feel to this otherwise dark (and potentially triggering) romance. Declan makes a great antihero, with a stern exterior and a secret marshmallow heart; the opposites attract vibe really worked for these two. This hits the ground running from the first page, and it kept me hooked from start to finish. And you can bet that I'm extremely impatient for the next couple in this series.Audio note: The audio is great! It's got duet narration that is extremely well done, with both voices in every chapter. Loved that. The female narrator does a good job, but Troy Duran steals the show with his accent and deep voice. Sometimes I have trouble with accents in audiobooks, but this one was just sexy. And there's a lot of steam in this, so it's a scorching listen. DEFINITELY not safe for work, lol. Nope. The runtime is ideal though, under 10 hours and perfect for a one-day listen - which is good, because there was no way that I was going to sleep without finishing. The audio takes this story up another notch, and it's one that I'd recommend without hesitation. Just make sure that you have headphones in, because, yeah, it's blush-inducing.

Carnal Urges
What is it about these possessive and protective men that you just can't get enough of? I love these stories and the characters are just...WOW, can't find the word for it. Definitely a big recommend on this book!

I want to be Sloan when I grow up
Sloan is the most amazing, laugh out loud, hilarious, confident woman ever and I adore her. Kage cannot make heads or tails of her or her mental and emotional strength and I adore it. The wit and humor throughout this book made it so fantastic!

IRISH, SCOTTISH OR WELSH?
I cant review this book without addressing the glaring cultural error. Declan is Irish yet speaks like a Scot. AYE, WEE and LASS are all SCOTTISH terms and BOYO? well that's WELSH! For this reason I struggled to give Declan a voice. If you're going to write about an Irishman it may be a good idea to speak with one first. And then there's the irritating way Sloane and Declan spoke to each other in riddles, some weird contest to prove how intelligent they were. She's constantly bragging about her IQ which gets tiresome and doesn't prevent her from ending up in a pretty abusive relationship. The spanking goes too far, rapidly crossing the line from titillation to torture. He's meant to be in love with this woman but likes beating her with a belt during foreplay to the point that she needs painkillers afterwards. And she enjoys it? Yeah right.. I could not reconcile this with Sloane's dominant personality. And finally, the storyline is fine but the book is too long and slows down to boring in the middle but like the first in the series, it picks up around the 80% mark. I don't think I'll read the next one though, it's not calling to me.

Yes, Sir 🖤
When it comes to kidnapping, the kidnapper expects the victim to cry, beg, or silence completely - all of this is due to fear. this would be expected. Well… Not with Sloan as a victim, and Declan, the dirty talking Irish Gangster, will find out the hard way. Because what could be worse than the annoying and talkative so-called victim who doesn't feel fear, is sassy, confident and kickass heroine. A few minutes in her presence is all it takes for the most dangerous men to become her supporters. Yeah, 'pure nightmare'.Let’s be honest, I don’t remember when was the last time I laughed so much. The constant banter, witty returns, humorous and engrossing conversations between Declan and Sloan, are the essence in this book. The sensual and sexual chemistry and heat between them is off the charts, and so palpable for the start. Great sexy and smutty scenes, and no denial Declan knows exactly how to deliver pure pleasure and bliss. All the raw and unadulterated emotions, ways of expressing feelings. Add an interesting plot, astounding second plan characters, and crossover with Ruthless Creatures - damn, there is a recipe for great read.

Just gets better
I didn't think I'd like this book as much as the first as I didn't take to Sloane, but how wrong was i! I loved her, there is real fireworks between her and Declan and the banter between them is hilarious, I couldn't put the first half down it is so funny. Sloane is witty, sassy and can fight back, she has a great view of life which came about by a not so great childhood. The dominating in the bedroom is a bit ott, but hey ho. This too has an intriguing plot with a couple of curve balls thrown in. The ending brings Nat and Kage back into the story, and again there is a surprising twist at the end. I hope it doesn't all end in tears and that book 3 isn't a blood bath and broken hearts and friendships.

Falling in love with your kidnapper
Sloane is a brilliant, tough, funny, independent character who has fun with men but is not looking for a boyfriend and thinks she is incapable of feeling love. Then she gets kidnapped by Irish Mafia boss Declan. He is immediately impressed by her bravery and fighting spirit. Is this the man who can make her submit? There is a lot of spanking in this book to the point that it starts to seem unrealistic.. how can she ever sit down? And can't they have sex without the spanking? It's nice to have a bit of variety! Spanking is not my favourite sex scenes (but I liked it in book 1 when Nat insisted that Kage could only do to her what she did to him). Nice to see the characters recurring.Always annoys me when authors don't understand the contraceptive pill. You don't have normal or regular periods on the pill (its a withdrawl bleed) and having a bleed on the pill doesn't prove you're not pregnant. Also please make the characters have the discussion about contraception and STDs before sex without a condom.. not after!

Even better than the last one!
I love J.T.’s books so much. I want to marry the men and be best friends with the women. In fact I think I like the women even more than the men! I love that they’re strong without being b!tches, that they can be submissive in the bedroom but still be proud feminists and they’re also highly intelligent and witty and so much fun! I also love that her female characters aren’t 18year old virgins like so many other romance books; in fact some of them are even in their 30s!! God forbid! ;)Anyway, with regards to this book specifically Declan is another scorcher of a man but the real star is Sloane. She’s so kind but equally bada$$ and so funny and witty and honestly I really do want her to my new best friend! This book is definitely a romance first and foremost but the plot around that is great, not so complicated you lose track of what’s going on but enough little twists to keep it interesting.
