You have to watch this
I love Thomas jane and watch his stuff regardless of the ratings. This was one of the best endings ever...Redbelt was maybe the best, Citizen Kane ofc, as two examples, but this one is spot on too. You have to watch it for that if anything.

You have to guess the story line - just wait for the cliffsnotes to understand this thing.
I wish I had never paid for this movie. It is a combination of a number of other movies with AI type scenarios. First, take plot line from 2001. Then add in BladeRunner. Follow by Altered Carbon, oh and do not forget West World. I have no idea where they were going with the "God" thread, I think it was just thrown in. About the only thing I liked about the God thread was when she decided how to handle it, that was the only thing that was an LOL.I spent a lot of time turning sound up and down while watching it because of transitions of words in the same scene. I also wasted about another hour of time backing up thinking I had missed something. All the sudden they were talking about something that was a complete surprise. I thought I had missed how they got to there. Then had no idea how they got to where they were. At this point I decided just to leave it alone and go with the "I have no idea" and let it move on.Like I said, once I put myself into the mind set of this is a combination of plots from other movies, I could almost follow along. Then I threw my hands in the air and said to myself. "self, just wait for awhile and someone will post a youtube video, explaining all the subtle plots and how the movie actually was supposed to go"In other words. Don't waste time watching this, just wait for the cliff notes to come out.

Weird show - but it does make sure good points
This movie received quite a few 1 star reviews, but it wasn't actually that bad. Some interesting notes and comments were made, which I generally interpreted as "What's it all about" and "What's the point"? The movie is comprised of various vignettes ripe with irony. I enjoy irony. Having a guy lost in space, starring at his beautiful blue world and wishing he could return, then becoming the last man alive as it's destroyed is the ultimate irony. As Spock would say, "Interesting."

WARNING Spoilers
(spoiler) This movie has a very artistic view it reminded me of Netflix's Black Mirror it has several points of views that capture a very dark and potential future for humans. It was a beautiful film, Alice eve was amazing and displayed a perfect view of how dependent people are becoming on technology. As well I found Thomas jane's scene talking about the empathy and love to be very interesting. I really enjoyed Annabelle's scene talking about how precious life is and Liam talking about immortality, when the dad goes down the path of what about the achievements you will make living forever, and the son goes what achievements like making money? I was stoked because I recently saw something on YouTube with Neil deGrasse and him talking about enteral life and how you will never get out bed because you wouldn't be motivated by the precious time you have. The movie summarizes it well at the end.All and all the movie was theatrically gorgeous it was honestly a nice break from all the love and action movies consistently spilling out, I do enjoy those just a nice change of pace.

Crazy and worth a watch!
I don't understand why this is getting so many negative reviews. It's brilliant and the cinematography was great! It borderlines as an artsy film, but is mixed with science fiction and whole lot of WTF! I loved it!

What's in a story?
Every good tale has characters that are well developed and grow with you as you move along the story line. A good tale has a well defined setting that allows the characters to grow and interact and permits the watcher or reader to grow with them. It has a plot that develops and utilizes the strengths and weaknesses of the characters and their interactions with the setting to make the story live and vibrant. There's always a conflict that traces these interactions and links them all together in some way. And then, finally, there's the resolution, when it all comes together and the characters and story lines and the conflict all mesh in some way to provide at least an element of closure so one can put the book down or turn off the TV with a sigh or a smile or .... something.Sadly, this movie had none of these.

This is coming before you know it
This is a well crafted hi tech future with charactors that believable. The transhuman world is being created as we speak, thanks to people like zuckerburg.

There's a lot going on; perhaps too much...
This film is set in a near-future where technology is far advanced and humans rely on it to an enormous degree. There are a number of separate storylines in play, some of which are related and others not. This is an interesting film with lots of ideas in play. The film moves from one story to the next and back again and sometimes it does this in a logical way. Some of the stories get quite well developed but others give you scant information and some start up and then you don't really see anything about them again. It feels like there might have been quite a lot of footage taken that got removed at the editing phase; not always successfully. And at 81 minutes the film is short and I think it would have benefited by some more explanation and another 5 minutes run time. But there's enough going on to make you think, and it's a bit different to other science fiction films on offer. 3.5 stars.
