Samurai Warriors 4-II is a hero-focused saga. Unlike the previous Samurai Warriors games that focused on delivering their narrative by exploring the various regions of feudal Japan, this title casts a spotlight on the characters themselves and tells their stories through 13 exciting new chapters. These chapters revolve around nine characters introduced in Samurai Warriors 4, three fan-favourites from previous titles and a brand new addition to the samurai roster. The game will feature many new and improved features as the battle, action and character development systems have been revamped. It also introduces a highly challenging and richly rewarding mode called: the Endless Castle. Players can choose to enter and struggle to survive for as long as possible, or to play against the clock and see how far they can get up the castle’s increasingly difficult levels!

A Suitable Way for Samurai Warriors to end it's 10th Anniversary.
Samurai Warriors 4 II has been called many things: an expansion, a remastering, even a reimagining, and in many ways it is all of these. Samurai Warriors 4 II may not seem like a massively different game to the original with initially the only noticeable differences being a new playable character, a rearranging of the original campaign, as well as the new Endless Castle mode but it's the subtle differences that you begin to notice after having played it after a couple of hours.Make no mistake, this is still very much Samurai Warriors 4 and much of the combat is still the same, but it is amazing to see how much Tecmo Koei have tenderly adjusted the original. Firstly, combat is smoother, enemy soldiers will no longer appear and disappear as they move too far back from the player's frontal cone of vision which means that when surrounded by hundreds of soldiers you can see every single one of them which is awesome to behold. The character skill tree has also been completely reworked with new 'epiphany' skills and other skills that can add benefits to health, defence and damage either through activated abilities in combat or passive skills that permanently boost a particular character's stats. The campaign has also been changed to reflect a character-driven storyline, each of the 13 scenarios are parallel to a different character's life in the Warring States period which means there is more depth in the background of each mission as characters will have new interactions and cutscenes (some historically accurate and some less so).Overall Samurai Warriors 4 II is not a revolutionary sequel to the series, but then it isn't supposed to be, it's simply a chance for the developers to show their dedication and to make fixes and adjustments to the original game that didn't quite work and to add some new and interesting features for the players, which as well the reduced price compared to the original, yet with just as much content is probably the best way for Tecmo Koei to end their 10th anniversary of the series.
