great value, works smoothly, and now after much use I love it
While I could not use these for my intended purpose, they are quite nice. Problems I read in reviews of other lab jacks cannot occur with these, like the pin in the sliding slot slipping out, because this one uses a threaded rod with a nut and a washer that will not allow the rod to slip out. I also like that nuts and bolts hold everything together rather than tack-welds, all the parts that would rub when adjusting the height have a washer or plastic piece for a spacer, and the locking rings around the rods without threads with nuts and bolts. I am impressed for a low-cost item.My update: The more I use this the more I like it. I am using one for my monitor, raising or lowering it every 30 minutes or so, and it has worked to eliminate neck and shoulder strain, and reminding (forcing) me to sit up straighter. It has more range than I need. I am not even returning the ones I am not yet using.

Little smaller than I thought
I should’ve paid attention to the size a little more. They’re a little smaller than what I really would’ve wanted but they work perfectly. They do exactly what they should. They’re sturdy. They’re built nice. I have a laser engraver, and this is the perfect way to maximize my space without adding or removing lifts

Useful, but unstable
I appreciate the functionality of these units, but for the intended purpose they weren't great. I needed to raise the bed of a laser engraver to set focus. The problem is that though the raise and lower works great, and you can control the height very well, the side to side stability is lacking, and any tiny amount of weight on either side will cause the surface to fail to be level, resulting in mixed focus results. I would expect the surface level to be more stable than it is. Perhaps my expectation is misplaced, I'm new to lab jacks.

Great value, but not if you need stability
I had hoped to combine these platforms with RC motors to create remote controlled risers. Unfortunately, when cycling these up and down, the top plate tended to tip side to side by as much as 15 degrees. Too bad, because they are otherwise well built.

Best value for your money
Excellent value. These will be height adjustments for a laser engraving machine.

You get what you pay for
Flimsy, wobbly, and pretty much what I should have expected for something so cheap. Platforms are made of punched stainless sheet. There's absolutely no rigidity to them so if you need to hold up something heavy (for me, an optical breadboard with an instrument on it), it's really terrible. If you're supporing something very light, you might be able to make these work.

Weak
I have to agree with other reviews that point out how flimsy these are. I tried using it as an extension for my miter saw. Couldn't even keep a 2x4 flat and level with the saw base.

Excellent risers, wish I could have kept them for my uses
I got these to work for my Monport K40 laser and my Ortur Laser Master 3 LE lasers but unfortunately they were just a tad too tall for my uses for the K40. I would have had to remove the feet which would have basically dismantled the entire thing in order to get enough clearance and so I ended up just using spare pieces of wood that I have lying around. It's a shame because this a great value to get two high quality lift stands that are very sturdy, perfectly level and easy to use, they just were too tall when at their shortest for my uses. Who knows, I may come back to these if I find a use for them again in the future. If you're thinking about getting them I do recommend them. If you're thinking about using them for a K40 you may still find good use for them if you're planning on cutting out the bottom of your K40 and keeping yours permanently on risers with the bottom open. In my case I needed to keep the bottom sealed when not doing tumblers so this wasn't an option which I why I returned them but they're good product and worth every penny, especially if you're splitting the cost with a friend.
