The best book on fasting I’ve ever read! Prepare to be ignited!!

I've always felt weird fasting as a way to make requests to God. It felt like manipulation ~ or an attempt at it until I understood fasting so much more CLEARLY! This book is awesome for helping readers understand the reasons to fast and the focus of fasts, so that we can be closer to God! I'd recommend this book to ANYONE interested in fasting as a spiritual discipline ~ especially to draw closer to God.

I’ve read several books on fasting that I’ve learned from and yet this book presented fresh angles on the subject to me.

I’ve long been wanting to grow in my ability to fast, but between very limited experience and a lack of mentorship and healthy teaching in this area, I didn’t know how. This book strips away all of my potential worldly motivations and wrong ideas and brings everything into focus on just one thing: Jesus. Fasting used to seem like a scary thing that only very religious people did; but now, I see it as a sadly under-utilized practice for experiencing increased intimacy with Jesus.I recently read this book in conjunction with the School of Revival Fasting for Fire intensive. I not only completed a water fast that was more than twice as long as anything I’d attempted in the past, I had joy while I did it. That was a miracle! I had some special encounters with the Holy Spirit during that time, and I so appreciated the combination of spiritual and practical advice. It took the mystery out of fasting and brought clarity to the how’s and why’s of fasting.The book is very readable and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I’m actually excited to implement more fasting in my life now!

It draws you in from the beginning and you can’t put it down. You sense the prompting! The testimony’s speak to you in such a way that your like I need to get some friends together read this and then fast together. Fasting has been going on forever and when you read about the breakthroughs that happen it so encourages you! And so many different types of fast. Practical tips and all. If you have a place in your Church that sells books you definitely want this on the shelf. And they will be changed more on fire for the love of Jesus and what He wants to do in and through you!

Fasting has been greatly misunderstood by the body of Christ. Jennifer Miskov definitely brings the clarity that’s needed and stirs us into hunger for more! If you want to grow in your intimacy with Him, if you want to tap into what it means to feast on the Lord, you will want to read this book! So many people from the past and the present have tapped into this one pathway to intimacy. I believe this book is an invitation from the Holy Spirit to dive deeper and to burn for the One with a holy passion and fire. Fasting is one of the ways to do this!!

I have a new hunger for fasting. This book was such a good read on past revivalists who began fasting for a move of God in and through their lives resulting in revival. I feasted on reading the very words of Lou Engle, Heidi Baker, and Randy Clark about their experience with fasting and how they’ve been marked by God during those times. I highly recommend this book if you want more Holy Spirit and Fire in your life.
