I tested the drain and it works fine. The only thing I didn't like are the top screws
My five stars go to Karen from Gatzies for professionally and promptly resolving an issue I had with this order. The unit itself gets four stars, Here are few tricks I used to achieve a set it/forget it project.I installed this unit in a basement shower stall where years ago I had a couple inches of sewer backup, not enough to flow over the five inches tall shower base but still .. We're retired and spend time in a second home so I wanted to feel sewer-proof and I think this unit might do the trick. The shower drain is a 2" pvc pipe,so my concern was about the floating/stop bottom breaking off the top of the unit .Who knows what can happen after few years of use, rust, filth, urine by our four and two legged friends , global warming .... etc. etc. imagine trying to retract the lost rubber cup from the bowels of the drain system !So I cut a 1,1/2" pvc pipe up to 1" from the potentially failing bottom float and dropped it inside the 2" drain . To facilitate draining I also drilled a bunch of 3/8" hole around this "catch" pipe ( 1,1/2 pvc sh ..) I tested the drain and it works fine. The only thing I didn't like ,thus the four stars, are the three (6/32 ?) tightening screws,They're the ones that expand the rubber seal to the inside wall of the drain pipe. They're small and very shallowly slotted .It takes a lot of effort to tighten them while you lay on your stomach looking for another screwdriver that might fit all while keeping the float from moving deeper and deeper in the drain pipe due to the screwdriver push and turn .I would have preferred Phillips head screws and that alone could have saved me on hour of aggravation,My suggestion, whether you insert a "catch" pipe or not , is to make yourself a hook wire from an old old coat hanger so you can hold the unit until the screws are tight and the unit feels secure , the damn thing can actually fall in the drain pipe ,or at the very least move away from you.!

Looking for a better alternative.
I bought this for a basement shower drain. When it rains hard, water comes up through this drain and floods my basement. I wish to stop it. I installed this unit, turned the shower water on and within 2 min, my shower was full of water. This thing doesn't let enough water out. I need a longer center pin screw. It doesn't let enough water out to use in a shower drain. If the mfg reads this review, if you have a longer center pin/screw by at least 1/2 more inch, then the unit might work. I'll check lowes for a longer center screw. I had to take it out until it can be modified and tested again with a longer center screw....Looking for a better alternative....

Didn’t fit my pipe
This didn’t fit my pipe. Wish it did because I think it would have been great for what I need it for

Great product and works as intended
Great figment. Works as intended. I used to get water coming up from my drain in the basement when both washing machine and dish washer were on. After placing this product, I never had water come up again! Would recommend!

Will not work
I have an older home and measured the drain pipe going down and it is 2 inches, but this is way too small, I would need a 3 inch one in order for it to fit the drain pipe for my house!
