Smad 2 Way DC/AC RV Caravan Fridge Absorption Compact Refrigerator Campervan Truck Refrigerator Hotel Dorm Minibar with Lock 60L

I bought this for use in a bedroom. My criteria were "about 1 cu ft", "black", "all fridge, no freezer" and "reversible door". That pretty much eliminated everything but this.Pros: One big one - this is the quietest refrigerator you or I will ever encounter anywhere. It is literally dead silent, not even fan noise. You could be the world's lightest sleeper and this fridge won't bother you, ever. Also, it gets plenty cold enough (nearly freezing) as long as it is used at normal room temperature, not in a hot environment. The unit seems to be quite well made, with an all metal shell. Has nice inside illumination. Has a key lock to keep kids out. Will run on 12 volts if desired, but it really isn't well suited for mobile or RV use.Cons: Expensive. Took a month to arrive. Rather large outside for its small size inside. Puts off a fair amount of heat. You cannot recess this unit tightly in a cabinet, it must have 3-4 inches of ventilation space around it. Inside space is at a premium. I can fit a half gallon of milk and 6-20oz. plastic soda bottles, plus a couple of small items on an upper shelf, and a few very thin (smaller than a soda can) items in the door racks. The door seal needs to be less stiff, with a stronger magnet. The instructions are poor and badly translated.Humor: The usual ridiculous list of "lawyer warnings" includes one saying "do not use for food storage". I got a good laugh out of that. That's like buying a lawn mower and having it say "do not use to cut grass". This works fine for food storage if the ambient temp is below 85F or so.Thoughts: Overall it meets my needs. The utterly silent operation is a huge plus.

I use it in my Semi truck (FTL Century 05) which is perfectly fit. But I only use it for a week now. I will keep update it later. Good for now! No light when using 12V

It's just what I needed, looks great and the perfect size and it would be a 5 star if I could control the temperature. Very cold no matter what I set the thermostat at. FREEZES EVERYTHING I PUT IN IT!!!

Arrived heavily damaged from an obvious drop in shipping. But! As a statement to how well it is made it still worked excellent! Even above my expectations for an absorbtion fridge. Taking a point off because it should be more clearly labled what the power consumption is while running on 12v. Definitely a lot higher than AC. But, bonus because it runs a whole lot colder on 12v. Sadly, was not a usable option for me due to the power draw, but was very easily returned hassle free and no return shipping charges.

I've installed this refrigerator in my 2013 Cascadia it worked less than 2 Months and stop working.This nis not a cheap item it is very expensive compared to the normal size refrigerator. I so not recommend it.

searched everywhere for the perfect beverage fridge. Finally found one that actually keeps drinks cold.It also has a slick design that can easily be mistaken for a storage locker. Combine that with the perfectly-silent design, and you have a winner

Any mechanical product will eventually fail, but for a refrigerator to fail after only four to five weeks is surprising. Initially, the Smad refrigerator was performing well and the temperature could be controlled by the internal thermostat from roughly 28 degrees F at the maximum cooling setting (number 5 on the rotary thermostat dial) up to no cooling (off setting on the rotary dial). My unit completely stopped cooling after four to five weeks.Because the failure occurred just outside the typical Amazon return window, I reached out to Smad Customer Support for assistance. They requested that the unit be turned upside down for at least 6 hours, then turned right side up for an additional 6 hours, and finally powered on at the maximum cooling setting for 6 to 8 hours. Although an odd diagnostic request, I did what they suggested. At the end of the exercise, the unit still would not refrigerate. Smad then noted that the 110V heating tube may be defective. At this point, I requested a refund from Smad. To avoid processing the return/refund directly through the manufacturer, I reached out to Amazon is see if they would extend their usual return window to accommodate this return. Amazon kindly agreed.These Smad refrigerators are truly silent, which is their appealing attribute. However, the quality is questionable. I will not be purchasing another one of these refrigerators.

It maintains perfect temperature on AC power on the coldest setting. Nothing is frozen.I've had this for a few weeks and I can verify that it is completely silent. No intermittent compressor noise or anything like that - silent at all times.A little more depth inside would make it more useful in my opinion. It currently fits things about 6-7 inch in depth depending on if the door shelved are installed.
