Captain Toady's

I have ordered this several times and will most likely order it again. They got the seasoning just right. They are slightly sharp and tangy, and i absolutely love this on my air fried shrimp.

This is the absolute best Tater sauce I have ever tasted. I just bought 2 more jars. I will never buy any other kind! The flavor of Dill is delicious.

I really enjoyed this tarter sauce. Despite other reviews this tarter sauce is, in my opinion, what tarter sauce should be. It has a tangy vinegar taste because it’s dill pickle tarter sauce as the name suggests. I do not agree with reviewer that said it’s heavy lemon taste. In my opinion it is not. It is heavy dill flavor and has a delicious kick to it By the time all the ingredients are there to make it what it is the end product is not very thick. Some people call it runny. It is true that it is not as thick as creamy heavy mayonnaise tarter sauces. If you want a mostly mayonnaise tarter sauce this is not it. To get a thick tarter you have mayonnaise with a hint of flavor or dry spices added for flavor. If you want the fish & chips restaurant tarter sauce this isn’t it. This tarter sauce is much like a relish tarter sauce and it is very much to my liking. I usually make my own relish tarter sauce. (And they are always runny and never thick). My only complaint is that for the money I want a bigger jar of it. This is more than I want to pay for this small amount. But I enjoyed it very much the short time it lasted. I found it to be delicious. I just want to get a bigger jar of it which is the ONLY reason for giving it 4 stars.

I've looked all around for really good tartar sauces, and I believe I've finally found one. As you can see from the ingredients list, it appears to be free of a lot of the more unnatural ingredients that plague most sauces. This particular version from Captain Toady's is the Dill version, meaning it contains an enhanced amount of dill, which I really like when eating any kind of fish (it's a preference thing... kinda like using malt vinegar with your fish & chips, which I also like). The sauce is thick and creamy and holds its body well (i.e., doesn't break down and become runny like other sauces I've tried, for example, Primal Kitchen Tartar Sauce). For those who prefer less dill, Captain Toady's makes a regular, non-Dill enhanced version, which, I'm sure, you will find most excellent as well! Again, if you're looking for a really good tartar sauce to attenuate your fish dining experience, your won't go wrong with Captain Toady's!

This is one of the better Tartar sauces I’ve tried. It has a nice dill flavor to it. However, I placed my Amazon order on March 19 and didn’t even think to check the expiration date when it arrived. I put it in my fridge and used it for the first time about a week later which is when I noticed the expiration date is 4/25/25. I emailed the customer service support for Toady’s but have not heard back from them. I assume by now that they won’t be replying back to me. It seems ridiculous that I was sent an item with such a close expiration date with only a month to use it basically before it goes bad. There’s no way I can use an entire jar of tartar sauce in 1 month. It’s also unfortunate the company never replied to my email as I think anyone would be upset with such a short timeframe to use the product before it expires. Just beware you might receive an item with a close expiration date.

One of the Best Dill Pickle TarTar Sauces money can buy. If you love the bold flavor Dill pickles in a thick creamy TarTar Sauces this is definitely the brand to purchase. Tastes amazing on all types of fish and chips. The only downside is it tastes so good the small jar doesn't last very long.. Will definitely order more in the future.
