This complex absorbs better in the body than pure vitamin C...
I only recently discovered the SIS (Science In Sport) brand when I reviewed their Omega 3 softgels. SIS is a world leader in elite sports nutrition based in Nelson, Lancashire.I wondered initially whether this supplement would be right for me as a non-athlete. It arrived smartly packaged in an opaque black fully recyclable PET plastic container complete with a hygiene seal.Inside you get 60 one-a-day vegan 1000mg Vitamin C tablets with Rosehip Extract and Citrus Bioflavanoids. My regular brand of 1000mg vitamin C tablets are a complex like this blended with these same ingredients. The reason I like this formulation is because the addition of rosehip aids the absorption of vitamin C by the body. The tablets are quite large, as have been all the Vitamin C tablets I've ever had - but easy enough to swallow.Founded in 1992, SIS have achieved excellence in the field of sports' nutrition and have a clear track record in supplementation which gives me confidence in this product despite the brand being new to me.At time of writing, this pack - which should last around 2 months - was priced at £5.99 . This is a good quality formulation, so good value in my view and handy if you prefer to purchase your vitamin C more regularly and in smaller sized packs.

A little big for some, but a good dose of Vitamin C suitable for Halal diets
These Science in Sport Vitamin C Tablets boast a reduction in tiredness, & fatigue as well as offering Immune support. Vitamin C is crucial to our diets and we often don’t get enough of this in our foods if we’re not easting a varied diet. These Vegan, Dairy-Free, Gluten-Free Capsules offer a way to top up your Vitamin C with ease and cater to almost all diet types Including Sesame, Nut, Soya, and Fish free diets. Due to no gelatine used, this makes them perfect for a Halal diet.Included are 60 capsules to be taken once daily, for a total of 60-days of supply. Priced at £5.99, you’d be spending yearly roughly £36.00 give or take. They contain 1000mg of Vitamin C with 20mg of Bioflavonoids and 20mg of rosehips. SIS are well known for their products and are often seen as a premium brand when it comes to their supplements. I have been taken Vitamin C supplements already but found these as a much better priced option and easier to obtain which is also safe for my Halal diet. I didn’t find these hard to swallow, but then I don’t necessarily struggle with swallowing pills either. However, these are larger tablets than most are used to and may require a pill cutter to split and take. There’s not really much information on how to take the pills as others have stated, I just take one daily after a meal which I hope I’m doing right as this is generally the best time as your body digests the food as well as the pills.

A good amount of tablets
I've taken vitamin C (the effervescent type) for years and years to aid the immune system and have found them especially useful when I feel I'm coming down with something. I was interested in these as they contain rosehip, which is another good thing and not something I've seen included with vit C before. The bottle contains 60 tablets (so at 1 a day should last you 2 months). The bottle clearly states the ingredients which is good, if like me, there are things you need to avoid due to allergies. The smell and taste of the tablets is quite strong (perfumey - I guess that's the rosehip) - not unpleasant, but strong and they are large. This is the downside. If you struggle at all with taking tablets, then you are going to struggle a lot with these. They're also not coated, so if you don't swallow quick, they stick to your tongue.I managed to swallow them OK, but they are very large. I wondered whether you are supposed to chew them (some vit c tablets used to be chewable) but it doesn't actually say. I've been swallowing them anyway. It's difficult to say whether these work or not, but I've always been a fan of vitamin c, so I have no reason to doubt that they do.Price wise - more expensive that most effervescent tabs but for 2 months worth, not too much more.

I've used better.
Personally, I like to take Vitamin C for a number of reasons.Firstly, immune system support as do most people. Secondly as one of my Medications I take is a known precursor to oxidative stress. This is a bad thing. My consultant recommended oral Vit C supplementation for this reason and I've used a number of brands over the last few years. These tablets are passable. Not terrible but they are not fantastic either.Firstly they are powdery , chalky and instantly stick to the lining of your mouth or your tongue the moment they come into contact. This pretty much instantly makes me gag. Not fun.The way to overcome this is by taking a mouthful of drink first, tilting your head back and dropping the tablet into your mouth and swallowing straight away.Secondly, every time I take them, I get incredible heartburn/indigestion within minutes. This has only happened with this brand and no others and went away when I stopped taking them.Value for money wise, I've found them to be not great for 60 tablets. I've used other trusted brands that come up to the same price for 90 or 180 tablets, so I feel this isn't their strongest point either.Overall, if they are an urgent purchase they are okay, but I'd not buy them again personally.I hope this helps and thank you for reading!
